TNA Impact Reax #1: " Anything related to Kurt Angle was mind-numbingly stupid." Nov 2, 2007 - 1:24:45 PM
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (5.0): Best: Christian vs. Harris; Styles/Tomko vs. LAX Worst: More Angle nonsense. Anything unrelated to Kurt Angle was, for the most part, great; anything related to Kurt Angle was mind-numbingly stupid. The X Division stuck up for themselves against 3D, as they should have, and the crowd seemed into the mass beatdown. These guys should now follow that up with their proud reasons for being in the X Division. This gave a nice bump to the Machine Guns-3D match as well. The mixed tag match saw the further moving story of Roode-Brooks cross paths with Samoa Joe and the planted fan. I'm still puzzled what they are doing with Chris Harris, so I will wait this out before I say anything more. As much as I believe Harris should have won against Christian as he is more "home grown," Christian still has a streak story to play (still not having been pinned), too, which will likely end at a PPV rather than an Impact episode. I'm also puzzled but amused with the Young-Storm story. I don't really get it, but I like it. As for the Angle segments, they couldn't decide if they were trying to solve the mystery of Sting's partner, or shooting on each other. Of the three titles, the World Title had the least value tonight due to these segments. Scott Hall being the potential mystery partner... well, I just shrugged at it. It's been so long since last I've seen Scott/Razor in the ring, so I don't have much to say yet. And Junior Fatu... it's been nice knowing ya' if we've seen the last of you. Don't let the door hit you on the Stinkface on the way out.
Christian Lee of Harrisburg, Pa. (3.0): Best Match: Styles/Tomko vs. LAX. Worst Match: Storm vs. Kaz. It's now become a chore every Thursday night to sit through two painful hours of ridiculous behavior, hideous plotlines, and utterly embarrassing booking. I can honestly say that I don't understand anything this company is doing. Not a thing! In fact, I'm almost certain that for every minute that I take attempting to figure it all out, an angel dies. Seriously, is it me? Am I crazy?!? Is TNA Wrestling, as a whole, just some sick practical joke that everyone in the world is in on except me? That's what it's starting to feel like. You know what though, maybe I am crazy! I say that because every week I find myself creating this beautiful alternate universe in my mind where The Motor City Machine Guns have just successfully defended the TNA Tag Team Titles, Petey Williams just performed a breath-taking Canadian Destroyer to become the new X-Division Champ, and A.J. Styles has just defeated Sting clean to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion. This is what goes on in my mind! This kind of behavior is "certifiable," but I swear to God it's what I have to do just to get through Impact every week! In all seriousness, I'm a fan of wrestling. More specifically, I'm a fan of TNA Wrestling. I want it to succeed in the worst way, but at this very moment, I just don't see that happening. So thank you Styles, Joe, and Daniels for your amazing matches. Thank you Eric Young for being so damn goofy. Thank you Petey Williams for making my jaw drop. Thank you James Storm for being such a solid heel. Thank you LAX. Thank you Sabin and Shelly. Thank you all... because pretty soon, most of you will be gone and the rest of you will be jobbing to Triple H.
