WWE Raw Reax #1: "This erases all doubt now that the well written Raw of two weeks ago was indeed a fluke." Nov 6, 2007 - 8:38:41 AM
Eli Brooke from Brooklyn N.Y. (3.5): Best Match: Santino Marella promo/Jeff Hardy video package. Worst Match: DX. I find the whole "one night only" concept unbelievable. First we get Vince McMahon saying its one night only in a sinister voice last week, this week no follow up. What is keeping the DX reunion from being longer than one night? Why can't they come out next week and do it if they want? I try to be objective about things since I listen to the Daily Keller Hotline everyday, but man I gotta say I am 25 years old and Triple H is not funny. I really don't think he would be funny if I was 16 or 12. How many times are Orton and Umaga going to team up? Hacksaw and Super Crazy!? This show was really bad. Santino was great as always, but otherwise it was a horrible 1997 rehash. I hate DX. I swear to god everyone is my son.
Dan Miller of Harrisburg, Pa. (5.5): Best Match: Hardy/Mysterio vs. Finlay/Kennedy. Worst Match: Beth Phoenix vs. Kelly Kelly. The writer's strike is in full effect, apparently. That was two uneven hours of television that looked completely thrown together after a lot of hype. If the overly long DX skit didn't kill the crowd, starting the action off with a women's squash match did. The Stone Cold segment was not surprising at all, except that apparently Budweiser is now selling a clear beer. Two great tag matches in Hardy/Mysterio and the returning DX for one night only or until they come up with a new shirt, but it could have been a memorable night. Plus-1 for a classy tribute to the Fabulous Moolah.
Mary Goven of Wisconsin (3.0): Best: Jeff Hardy/Mysterio vs. Kennedy/Finlay. Worst: The remainder of Raw. With the hype placed on the returns of DX and Stone Cold, it fell short of the mark. The opening DX segment was the usual comedy skit (which wasn't all that entertaining), and the Austin-Marella face-off was predictable. I'm glad Triple H and Shawn Michaels only re-united (and they split up when?) for one night, as I much prefer Michaels in a serious role, than as Triple H's "do-good sidekick." The DX vs. Orton/Umaga tag match served its purpose, though. The only glimmer of hope in the show was Hardy/Mysterio vs. Kennedy/Finlay, but with that combination, it isn't a surprise. The rest of Raw was nonsense and pointless filler. Hacksaw Duggan? Super Crazy? Two squash matches in ten minutes? Big Dick Johnson? The girls next door? A collective groan must've filtered through the Staples Center. I guess this erases all doubt now that the well written Raw of two weeks ago was indeed a fluke.
