Jericho's Return Reax #1: "He tried to go mainstream and leave wrestling behind. It didn't work. So he is back." Nov 27, 2007 - 2:15:39 PM
In the PWTorch VIP Forum, members are discussing the first two weeks of Chris Jericho's return. Here's a few comments they've made. Now it's your turn. Send us your thoughts - pro or con - on how Jericho has performed and how WWE has positioned him after two Raw appearances, and what are his prospects to be a consistent main eventer over the next year or so given the competition on the Raw roster for those few top spots.
VIP Member in PWTorch Forum: Jericho is your girlfriend who suddenly dropped 30 lbs, went tanning, and bought a new wardrobe. She then promptly broke up with you so she could see other people. A year later and she has now been dumped. So she calls you and tells you it was her, not you, and she never quit loving you. She wants to get back together and expects you to salivate over the prospects and to jump at the chance to be with her again. It isn't the same and you know it. She was once your everything, but she tried her best to move on and is only back because she got rejected. Jericho got a 150 dollar haircut, whitened the old teeth, got toned, and sports a new wardrobe. He tried to go mainstream and leave wrestling behind. It didn't work. So he is back. Had he starred in a "Game Plan" type movie that did 87 million at the box office, he would NOT be back under any circumstances. He tried to move on, and in the meantime we wrestling fans have. He just doesnt matter like he once did.
VIP Member in PWTorch Forum: Jericho is even less intimidating now as Jon Bon Jovi than he was as a blonde chick.
VIP Member in PWTorch Forum: So far, Jericho's return has been really lame. He's way too cheesy and the crowd couldn't care less it seems. He really should be a heel, hell, I was hoping he would beat down Flair last night. Whatever it is they are trying to do with him is failing miserably (thought Triple H is probably very happy about that). Jericho used to be really great, but this cheese ball face stuff is going over about as well as Rocky Maivia's early career.
Send us your thoughts, and just to add a twist to the PWTorch Reax feature, from now on include not just your hometown, but also your occupation (mechanic, lawyer, stay-at-home-dad, college student, etc.) so readers get a flavor for what everyone does as "day jobs."
