WWE Armageddon Reax #2: "Jeff Hardy going over clean was excellent; my hats off to Triple H for allowing this." Dec 17, 2007 - 12:03:02 PM
Mark Dinatale of Los Angeles, Calif. (7.0): Best Match Hardy vs. Triple H. Worst Match: Nothing was that bad to be worst. Wow, I can't believe that I just saw a PPV that actually had wrestling in it. The backstage segments were basically nonexistent, and the emphasis was wrestling. HBK vs. Mr. Kennedy went much longer than I expected, but the outcome was expected. I like the falling on the opponent right after Sweet Chin Music. The highlight was the Jef Hardy vs. Triple H match. Jeff going over clean was excellent; my hats off to Triple H for allowing this. It was a great match. I also enjoyed the show opener with Rey Mysterio vs. MVP. Again, wrestling was really the order of the day. Chris Jericho in my eyes proves he still has it in the ring, his match with Randy Orton was great and seeing the "Walls of Jericho" was great. I hope these two meet again. The JBL thing was interesting. Can't wait to see what comes of that. My big problem was with the Triple Threat Match. I thought the extra Edge's were a little much. I understand about getting him over as a clever heel, I just felt it muddled the finish. I will like to see where he goes from here. All in all a really good PPV, and I am very happy to see the WWE on an upswing. Makes me very excited for the Royal Rumble.
Jerry Tkachuk of Piper City, Ill. (0.0): I decided that Vince McMahon and WWE will no longer sucker me into $40 every three weeks after watching yet another non-finish to a title match. MVP lets himself get counted out in the opening match of the PPV, and I changed the channel for an indefinite future. It was officially the end of my WWE experience. I will continue to read PWTorch on line, and when the fans indicate that things are better I may start watching Raw and Smackdown again. But Vince will continue to offer up nonsense like this until we all tell him to offer better, and he won't get my money again ever! I even see that this was not the only non-finish of a title match that happened on the show (JBL?!?) which makes me feel even smarter for my decision. Three Edges? Can Five "Doinks" be far behind?
Adam Riemer of Brooklyn, N.Y. (4.5) Best Match: Hardy vs. Triple H. Worst Match: Kane & C.M. Punk vs. Big Daddy V & Mark Henry. Seriously, WWE is terrible right now. Yes the Hunter-Hardy match has match of the year quality to it, it was awesome and seeing Hunter put over someone who needed to beat a top guy shows that maybe he finally is thinking of the bigger picture. It also shows that the WWE is realizing that Triple H and HBK are not going to be around forever and it is time to push the new guys. However, what else happened on this PPV? Nothing! Well, besides JBL returning, which I think is amazing since JBL was the last truly hated heel in the WWE. All I can say is that Raw needs Heels since Triple H will get stale in 20 minuets if they turn him back, and JBL can be that guy. Other than that this PPV sucked. HBK jobs to everyone who is established, but jobs to no one who needs it, Kane is stale. They need to put the mask back on him or something. Jericho is a flop, and a really bad one at that. He has none of the fire that we saw two years ago, much like HBK is now he shows no signs of really wanting to be in the WWE. C.M. Punk is wasted talent, he should be on Raw making the Intercontinental Title matter again and Rey Mysterio is getting that karma he had coming to him when he used Eddie Guerro to have the worst and most unbelievable (in a bad way) title run in a long time. Lastly why are there three Edges? The WWE is just re-hashing the two Kurt Angles title screw-job ending that they did years ago in a match with the Undertaker. Overall, WWE is just bad right now, I never thought I would say it, but please heal soon John Cena.
