TNA Against All Odds PPV Reax #2: "In closing, I hope I never see or hear Karen Angle again." Feb 14, 2008 - 5:08:06 PM
Brad C. of Perth, Western Australia (9.0): Best Match: Eric Young vs. James Storm. The best PPV I've seen in recent memory. Not perfect, but good wrestling throughout the show. TNA has so many good wrestlers, Kong, Lethal, Styles, Joe, Steiner, Maple Leaf, even Storm and of course Eric Young. It's so easy to forget how good a wrestler Ric Flair... I mean Eric Young is. HBK... I mean Eric Young had me entertained throughout the whole match and Storm did a fine job holding up his end. The Booker T vs. Robert Roode match was just so different, so back and forth. Until the Spinaroonie broke reality, I felt like I was watching a legit street fight. Remember when the Spinaroonie was actually useful? Kong and ODB had a good match, but ODB didn't do as good a job as Gail Kim. If there's anyone in wrestling who has the right to "hulk up," it's ODB. Hulking up and then body slamming Kong would have been fantastic, but I'm not so sure she could actually lift Kong. Steiner is just so good and has been good for a long period. Like he said (or tried to say), he's had more title matches than most wrestlers have had matches. What a legend. Lethal was excellent in beating the Dudleys and when they took his belt he just went and took it back. I only wish he had done that X months ago. Main Event was good. In closing, I hope I never see or hear Karen Angle again.
Matt Guerra of Bayonne N.J. (7.5): Best match of the night was Christian vs. Angle. Worst match of the night was A.J. Styles/Tomko vs. an Old Man & a Really Old Man. This was a good overall PPV, but the lackluster build up to it hurt some of the matches. Steiner-Williams was better then expected, the street fight was fun, but I didn't get what I wanted out of Booker T-Roode. Making the drinking belt a legitimate belt is a good idea, and the match between Storm and Young was very, very good. If this PPV gives me a feud of A.J. vs. Samoa Joe, it was well worth it.
