TORCH READER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What are your thoughts on the Floyd Mayweather angle? Feb 18, 2008 - 10:22:01 AM
Wrestling fans are ordering WrestleMania because it's WrestleMania. This week's question of the week is how much of an impact Floyd Mayweather's involvement in WrestleMania will impact WWE's PPV business for Mania. There is a certain percentage of sports fans who will never spend a dime on pro wrestling, but how significant is this angle to generate additional PPV buys from sports fans, especially boxing fans?
In a two-part question, also give your thoughts on the angle itself. With Jason Powell breaking the news this morning that it's expected to be a tag match involving Rey Mysterio & Mayweather vs. Big Show and partner, possibly Shane McMahon, how do you see the angle playing out on TV? Can the build-up match the hot opening angle last night to keep people interested in the program before Mania?
