2/26 WWE ECW on Sci-Fi Reax #1: "Chavo didn't do this match any favors on commentary." Feb 27, 2008 - 2:29:16 PM
Adam J. Grammas of Westchester, Ill. (3.0): Best: Main event. Worst: Opener. I don't think putting Kofi (or tea?) with Kelly Kelly is going to get him over. It'll probably make most guys annoyed. I see a lot of Rocky Mavia in Kofi when he comes to the ring. Note I didn't say The Rock. Mike Knox became Barry Horwitz in short order, didn't he? I smell tag titles for Dreamer & Delaney. I'm guessing - and hoping for his sake - that Shelton is in ECW for a title run. Even as a heel, the stuff he does gets big pops. The cat-like moves are too good for him not to get some recognition, and you know that won't happen in Cena-Hunterland. Why did Tazz get on Chavo's case when Chavo simply said the guys were pulling out all the stops in their match?
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (6.0): Best: Dreamer/Delaney vs. Miz/Morrison Worst: Punk vs. Benjamin vs. Burke (with Chavo) If it weren't for the crowd, the score would have been much lower. This show should have been better; not sure what happened. Kofi/Kelly-Layla/Santino was a fun match, but was pretty awkward in execution. Knox-Richards was okay, but nothing special, though watching Richards selling his throat is a little tough to do. Dreamer's pep talk to Colin needed to happen, and I don't have a problem with a starry-eyed Colin asking about getting his own entrance music. The thought about winning a title was there, but one step at a time. Getting his own music would be a first sign that he's made it, then it's on to the next step. The win was a little premature; hopefully this means that Miz/Morrison keep the tag gold. Colin's offense/defense is still accidental and rookie looking, but it fits him. The triple threat match had so much potential for the guys involved, and it was a sloppy spotfest. Chavo didn't do this match any favors on commentary; he was robotic and dispassionate on the mic. Add to that the replays from Raw (personally I would have traded the Flair-Michaels segment for the Mayweather-Show segment) and this week wasn't a good one. About Shelton... didn't he win a Monry In The Bank qualifier? I swear there wasn't a single mention of that fact.
