WWE Raw Reax #2: "Not even Cena has been pushed down the fans throats like Triple H has recently." Mar 18, 2008 - 2:47:18 PM
Forrest of Des Moines, Ia. - Occupation: Finance: Best Match: John Cena & Randy Orton vs. Raw roster. Worst Match: JBL match. The main event was really fun for me. I also think that it really established the RKO as thee finishing move and Orton really came off as a dominant competitor. It also did the same thing for Cena, but the RKO came off as the more exciting and spontaneous finisher. Back in different times when a wrestler hit his finisher, it marked the end of the match, no matter what point in the match it happened. I don't think the main event did anything to the mid-card wrestlers status. I think it established Randy Orton as the man with a deadly finisher. If I were to change anything about the main event I would have given it at least 30 minutes. Another point that really got my attention was Santino's attack on Jerry Lawler. It seemed genuine and then lightened when he took the sandwich. But it will be fun and interesting to watch the Lawler-Santino feud develop (if it does).
Adam Riemer of New York City, N.Y. (6.5): Best match: Orton/Cena vs. Raw. Worst Match: JBL's existence. Not a bad Raw in general. Flair vs. McMahon was a decent match to say the least. Flair is good where he stands right now. I still wish they did an angle where HBK was the heel in this. Chris Jericho is getting the "throw under the rug" treatment from the WWE. He is probably a heel, but we don't really know since Hardy decided to get stoned instead of wrestling to give us the payoff of a Y2J-Hardy feud. Big Show is a face, I guess, but if he throws a punch as he did at Jericho to Mayweather, then this match at Mania is going to be bad. Are fans starting to cheer for Orton again? Maybe everyone is finally getting sick of Triple H like I am. Not even Cena has been pushed down the fans throats like Triple H has recently. Hunter has been pushed down our throats since 2000 and, like JBL, last night he got heel heat of bordem. Orton vs. Cena would be better than this triple threat with Triple H in it, who is obviously going to win the title and go on another twelve month title run.
Terrie Neilson, Las Vegas, Nev. (1.0): The Good: The Plan. The Bad: The Execution. The Ugly: being hammered to the fact that there are 13 days left to WrestleMania I was dreading an awful lot coming into Raw tonight. Most of my dreads were unfounded, save for one: If WrestleMania were the culmination of the build going into it as opposed to the card itself... it will amazingly suck! I shouldn't be thinking this way, but what matches there didn't mean a whole lot the way they were booked? Kendrick bails out on London, and not one thread of anything to give it relevance (like Kendrick's been booked alone the past several weeks, and London's been nowhere on TV). Lawler said he'd "never seen anything like" the double Samoan Drop on London & Kendrick. Correct my vision if I'm wrong, but weren't Jerry and I in the same building when Umaga did the same thing to Michaels and Jericho in the Elimination Chamber? The Cena-Orton promo discussing their situation and their respective motives failed to take into account the bail-and-forfeit-WrestleMania stip brought down by Triple H. ECW gets the honors of mentioning next honoree. Last time they did that it was The Sheik who was inducted; looks like another from the realm of Extreme will be honored. The Show-Mayweather match, which has yet to be determined this late in the game, is still a heel-heel match, which will do it no favors whatsoever. For what it was worth, the match of the night was the Flair-McMahon street fight, but even the stuff surrounding this match was marred by the lousy booking. The promo between Michaels and Flair made Shawn look weak for not explaining himself for why he wants to watch Flair's back (the mauling he received in the four-on-two Smackdown cage match), much less even saying anything. According to Flair, Shawn wasn't in a match; then why was he in the graphic for the Cena-Orton-roster match? Michaels's save later gets him an ejection. Considering the way tonight played out, Shawn Michaels should have just stayed home and stayed away from tonight's complete meltdown.
