There are many reasons why I don't watch Impact even. Although I really want to be a TNA fan and I attempt to watch Impact every few weeks, there are so many things that I just don't enjoy in part because I don't get the point of things.

First off, I don't get Eric Young: was he ever a good wrestler, maybe on the indy scene or the early days of TNA on pay-per-view? Why does he still get scared by his pyro? They feature him every week and I just dont get him; maybe it is just me. Another thing is I dont understand why they insist on reminding viewers that their stars used to be in WWE, WCW, etc.

I remember the days when it was taboo to refer to the other promotion on televison, but TNA does it often. I want each promotion to live in their own universe, like the D.C.-Marvel comics do: Both companies do the same thing but rarely, if ever remind readers that they do the same thing. Then there are the confusing gimmicks, I don't want to think while I watch wrestling, when I want to think I watch the news or some deep program, when I watch wrestling I want to sit back and have fun and just enjoy it, and most of the time TNA just makes it frustrating to simply be a fan.

I used to watch Impact pretty regularly. However, the last time I watched a full episode was probably about a year ago. The reason is simple: the writing is absolutely horrible. Nothing that happens on the show matters longer than a week. The writers just don't have a grasp on the fundamentals of storytelling. They don't know how to create a hero, put him through various trials, and have him win in the end with a satisfying payoff for the fans. It's just a bunch of gray colored characters screaming at the camera about something no one at home gives a crap about.

TNA has an absolutely stellar roster, they have a two hour show on cable, and a PPV deal. That's everything they need to succeed and a lot more. The reason people aren't watching is because they don't have any good stories to tell. And without compelling, well-written stories the stars, the production, and all the bells and whistles mean nothing.

I'm open to watching TNA, but not until they hand they hand the book over to someone like Jim Cornette or Paul Heyman. Until then, my hiatus from TNA will continue to grow. There's just too many well written TV shows on right now to waste my time with TNA and their two hour crapfests.

I try to catch Impact, but it honestly slips my mind every few weeks. It is a good show, but doesn't have that big main event feel as Raw does. I give their guys credit, they work hard and provide a much better show wrestling-wise. As stale and boring as some Raw storylines have become, I really can't get into much of anything on Impact. I also miss Smackdown nine out of ten Friday nights. Ever since that brand's move to Friday night I've never gotten into it much because as much as I love wrestling and Smackdown's headliners, Edge and Undertaker, I usually have weekend plans for Friday nights.

This is a great poll and with this I would suggest another:

I constantly see reviews of people giving that same old lines: "I used to watch Raw all the time but barely watch it anymore" and other reasons for not watching Raw. I'll admit some of their product is getting way overdone (I quote the Torch: 2007 wants its storylines back) but hey, I'm a pro wrestling fan. Just like following a last place ballclub, Raw is my favorite show period, no matter what the ratings are. But it would be interesting to see a poll of fans asking why they don't watch Raw, why the ratings have declined, etc.

I don't watch TNA because they don't do enough to keep me from changing the channel. There is very little competition on Thursday nights (other than the NBA playoffs, which will be over in about a month) and I would really like to get into another wrestling show. However, the new talent (not from WWE) they have doesn't really interest me that much, and the old talent from WWE is nowhere near as engaging is they were when they were with WWE. I see Kurt Angle, and he is neither the badass he was around the end with ECW headbutting opponents a foot taller than him, nor is the he the loveable dork who prances around in an elementary school Olympic uniform with his gold medals.

I see Booker T, and he is neither the pompous King of the Ring he was when he left WWE, nor is he the goofy Spinarooni guy that did fun promos with Goldust years back. A vision of him dressed as a lumberjack before a lumberjack match crosses my mind. Team 3D isn't any fun anymore (although it was kind of clever when they tried losing weight) and the rest are too far gone to mention. I would tune into TNA just for Kurt Angle, because I miss him and there's a big void left in WWE because he's gone, but as it turns out, TNA doesn't have the Kurt Angle I miss, either.
