A.A. Norman of Tulsa, Okla. (7.0): Best Match: Estrada's jobbing three-peat. Worst Match: Kelly vs. Victoria. I know I shouldn't like the jobbing, but there's nothing funnier to me, it seems, than Armando Estrada losing three times in a row, struggling to get his own ECW contract. That was the highlight of the show for me and I have no idea why. However, the low point had to be the sloppy and dangerous women's match that likely left Kelly Kelly injured. I know they're trying to promote more legit women's matches now, but it looked like someone was going to get seriously hurt. Kelly Kelly actually did look like she got hurt at the end. If they need more ring time, give them dark matches before airtime matches, because that was a lot of risk for no reward. As for the rest of the show, here's hoping that the draft once again takes the belt off the big guy. Kane does not belong on ECW, unless its as a guest from Raw. I like the idea of grouping ECW with Raw, because it will mix things up more and that's what will get WWE ratings, not money (apparently). Overall, a good show.
Kevin Hensley of Ellijay, Ga. (5.0): Just some random thoughts as I sat through ECW on Sci-Fi tonight encouraged me to write this reaction. Mike Adamle sounded great tonight, for the first time ever... Oh yeah, ECW was taped last week, given plenty of time for re-editing and voiceovers. Good to see Matt Sydal get a break. I don't know when Mike Knox's birthday is, but whoever is a close friend of his should buy him a beard trimmer. It'll make a great gift! Kelly Kelly's bump was sick, and she looks to be improving in the ring every week. That would've knocked the wind out of me, I know that. It's a damn shame that Finlay is such a great wrestler, but he couldn't get over with the fans until he had Hornswoggle paired up with him full-time. The Armando-Colin saga has gone on long enough, and tonight is the perfect time to end it. Big Show's eye looks awful, but he'll recover by Night of Champions. After all, even Mayweather didn't leave THAT after the brass-knucks KO at WrestleMania (which I was in attendance for, and was VERY let down by the finish of that match.) The Miz hasn't be a wrestler long enough to be a Tag Team Champion for half a year, and it shows. John Morrison has came a long way. I personally think Kane should carry the gold for a long time. As far as C.W. (ahem) C.M. Punk goes, well... there's always that briefcase!
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (9.0): Best: Benjamin/Knox vs. Bourne/Kingston Worst: Three-part squash Even the worst thing of the night was better than all of Raw last night, and doesn't bode well for Vince's Millions. The wrestling was much better, including a mighty impressive debut for Evan Bourne (a/k/a Matt Sydal). He should have been named Bourne in the first place, but since they're already playing coverup, it's just a small slight. Tiffany is already better than some of the women on the mic. Kelly-Victoria was a decent enough match with a sick bump by Kelly. I do hope she was selling as it was almost too well done. I expected Finlay to mop the floor with Estrada, and I don't mind Delaney getting in another after-the-fact win, but once Hornswoggle was added, then it went downhill. Colin gets caught up in the victory celebration and earns a shillelagh shot for his trouble? Felt uncalled for and it buried Colin. How much more time is Colin going to be around? The Henry-Show verbal sparring served its purpose, and did provide the nice little staredown between Kane and Big Show. Show's promo seems to be setting up as heel - yet again WWE can't pick a side for Show to be on. The main event was a good match, and the finish yet again is at Punk's expense. He did look like he legit hurt himself as his facials didn't look like selling ones. What was the point of making Punk MITB if they keep screwing him over?
