WWE Raw Reax #4: "I'm not looking forward to another McMahon family feud, but I'm intrigued by how this one is starting."

David Baker of New York City (4.0): Best Match: Batista-Jericho and that's not saying much. Worst Match: The dancing-around segment was just awful. I hadn't watched Raw in a long time, but decided to give it a shot last night. Not much has changed. The main event was a decent cage match, but these matches are getting beyond stupid. Jericho looked stupid trying to escape then slowing down to wait for Batista to stop him. Hey, I know you need drama, but that was just too forced and awkward. However the ending was great and surprising. C.M. Punk has gone from champ to after-thought; I feel bad for him. I thought we had our final DX reunion a while back? Triple H loves penis jokes/references more than Chris Mathews loves Obama. The highlights were a sad reminder of when Raw used to be a better show.

Brian Harmon of Saint Paul, Minn. (8.0): Best match: Batista-Jericho. Worst: Shane's idiotic dancing. This was one of the rare WWE shows where I was able to look past the holes in logic and simply enjoy it. So much so that I was at least mildly amused by segments that would normally annoy me, such as Mae Young squashing all the heels and the Funaki dance-a-thon. Lord knows I'm not looking forward to yet another McMahon family feud, but I have to confess that I'm intrigued by how this one is starting. It was nicely under-stated for a change, and the first time I can recall seeing Stephanie not being completely over-the-top all the time. If they keep this up, maybe I'll stop cringing every time she appears on my TV. In general, I felt like creative showed signs of genuine appreciation for the work that Michaels and Jericho did in their recent feud and are trying to apply it to other parts of the program. I also really liked the way they brought the Orton/Second generation "entertainers" storyline back to center stage. The show was three hours, but it didn't seem too long at all. It feels like they might finally be on to something. Let's hope they can keep it up.

Art "Bucky" Blarr of Buffalo, N.Y. (7.5): Best Match: Batista vs. Jericho. Worst Match: eight-man battle royale (too predictable). Even though I was disappointed with much of the show, it was good enough to keep watching and it held my interest. I enjoyed the opening, as Orton was brief in his promo and it went right into a fast-paced first match. I still haven't grown bored with Charlie Haas & his impersonations, but I wish he would win a few matches to build up his character. I thought Michaels looked great in the DX match, as did Miz & Morrison. I thought Miz & Morrison walked away looking good despite their loss. The divas match was entertaining with Mae Young, but I think they dropped the ball. I would've loved to seen a quick, fast-paced match with each diva using her signature move and then maybe have Mae Young come out and trip up a heel diva so someone like Mickie or Kelly could get the pin. ... I know it's a set up for some angle, but I was so disappointed in the horrible finish in the Punk vs. Orton match. Same thing with the JBL vs. Taker match, which was over too quickly. I thought the Kung Fu Naki dancing was totally dumb and embarrassing. I really loved the main event and thought both Jericho and Batista did a great job inside the cage with Jericho trying to escape, which had me on the edge of my seat.
