WWE Raw Reax #4: "Manu came away from his match with Batista stronger than when he walked in."

Art "Bucky" Blarr of Buffalo, N.Y. (8.5): Best Match: Miz & Morrison vs. Rey & Michaels. Worst Match: Regal vs. Hardy. I thought Raw put on another over-the-top show that ended with a great lead into the Survivor Series. The opening Q&A forum with Stephanie was great, especially with Santino's rap and Shawn Michaels's dive onto JBL. I think if anyone deserves to be the MVP of the night, it should be the Heartbreak Kid. Michaels seemed to be rejuvenated and even physically looked a lot better then he has recently. He shined on every segment he was on last night. Rey, Miz, and Morrison also put on a hell of a performance as well. I thought the women had a pretty good segment despite how awkwardly Kelly bounced out of the corner before the finish. Kelly is definitely improving each week as the first couple minutes of the match were pretty exciting. I'd love to see Beth vs. Victoria some day. Manu should leave his hair wild, as it does make him seem a bit more intimidating. I was a bit bored with Jericho last night. The main event was a real good match with a great ending that built up the Survivor Series.

Alex Roberts in the U.K. (7.5): Best Match: Miz/Morrison vs. Mysterio/HBK. Worst Match: Matt Hardy vs. William Regal. The open forum opening was a clever idea and a nice attempt to freshen up the product a little that didn't quite work because of the presentation and over-scripting. With that said, attempts to try something new should always be applauded. Perhaps let Shane run a show over the coming weeks to contrast the difference between the two McMahon kids? It did bring together and wrap up some loose storyline ends nicely. Also, Santino's rap was excellent, but I'm going to shower some praise on Beth Phoenix, who has been equally as brilliant as Santino in recent weeks. For once, I'm not going to gush over Chris Jericho's promo. The delivery was undoubtedly excellent, but the content wasn't. WWE had a ready-made story to build some heat for this match, and they fumbled it. On the plus side, WWE managed to resist the temptation to have Batista squash Manu last night. Amazingly, Manu came away from his match with Batista stronger than when he walked in, and the continuation of the Orton/Priceless angle that followed was great. I'm interested to see how they intend to slot DiBiase back into this. I also loved the Miz/Morrison-Michaels/Mysterio match. The match was good throughout, and finally Miz & Morrison secured a convincing win over credible opposition. WWE now needs to resist the urge to undo this at Survivor Series on Sunday.
