ECW on Sci-Fi Reax #1: "I was waiting for someone to take a shot at Swagger's lisp, but Ricky Ortiz?"

Art "Bucky" Blarr of Buffalo, N.Y. (6.0): Best Match: Kingston & Finlay & Hardy vs. Henry & Rhodes & Regal. Worst Match: Dreamer vs. Swagger. Overall, it was a pretty mediocre show on ECW last night. I enjoyed it, but it didn't blow me away. Miz & Morrison are one of the hottest things going in the WWE right now. It would be great if Christian signs with WWE, teams up with Edge, and then feuds with Miz & Morrison. I enjoyed the debut of "Das Wunderkind" D.J. Gabriel along with the repackaging of Alicia Fox. The amateur match between Dreamer and Swagger was okay, but didn't really keep my interest. I know it was a build-up for the Survivor Series but I would've rather just seen Kingston vs. Henry as they were the best part of the Main Event and they saved what would have been a boring main event.

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (8.0): Best: Henry/Regal/Rhodes vs. Kingston/Finlay/Hardy. Worst: not much really. With ECW not represented at Survivor Series in a solo match, the pressure was off to make a major go-home bid and just continue with storylines. Some nice progression happening. Miz and Morrison put over their particular Survivor Series match and who they will have to deal with in this. Talk about solid points: Rey and Shawn are the only ones with previous Survivor Series experience, Cryme Tyme still haven't quite clicked in the ring, and no. 5 is Khali. It will probably come down to Shawn versus someone on Team JBL. The win for Team JBL will do nothing for MVP unless he pins the last man on Shawn's team, and I don't see it happening. I didn't see obvious editing for the D.J. Gabriel match, and his spot-to-spot movement looks a lot smoother than Swagger's. Not to keen on the in-ring showboating, though; it just looks like a really awkward fit. Swagger, though, did very nicely on the amateur wrestling challenge, and that was a nice change up in progression for the feud with Tommy Dreamer. I was waiting for someone to take a shot at Swagger's lisp, but Ricky Ortiz? He's a face, so a comment like that is out of character and somewhat uncalled for. The heels winning the main event suggest that they're getting their win now because they're not going to see it later. But the match itself was very nice, and it was great that Regal and Finlay's brawling past was referenced.
