WWE Raw Reax #1: "Orton continues to be the MVP of WWE right now next to Jericho."

Hank Schaller, Torch VIP member of Muskegon, Mich. (8.0): Boy if TNA wants to learn how to do a successful pay-the-view, they should watch this combination of Raw and the Slammy Awards on free cable television. Best match: the show closing segment featuring everyone in a main event on Sunday's pay-per-view. John Cena barely beat out Chris Jericho as the MVP and everyone on the card from top to bottom performed brilliantly. Compared to TNA's PPV, storylines were advanced, there was plenty of comedy relief, and lots of gorgeous divas. Strange as it sounds, my personal highlight was the Great Khali winning the Slammy, puckering up and kissing a diva, and our least favorite crooner moaning in the background as a chorus of superstars including Funaki and Sergeant Slaughter doing a star spangled salute made me laugh. Ron Simmons and his Damn! was the icing on the cake. Maybe Kurt Angle and Mick Foley and other WWE refugees should come home. Christian Cage should have no decision to make about returning to WWE if he watched this event on free television. PPV buys should be incredible. Thank God the Slammys are back. They should put it on network television next year.

Adam Riemer of New York, N.Y. (8.0): Best: Jericho winning the Wrestler of the Year; Triple H/Batista putting over the Legacy Stable. Worst: That "Damn" crap; Rey Mysterio actually winning. How many people out there were hoping Kofi was going to turn heel on Mysterio after the match? I know I was! This was a VERY good show on the WWE's part. So many times the three-hour shows are terrible, but this one was well done. I have to say the OMG moment of the year for me was Chris Jericho winning the wrestler of the year award. I know the Slammys are kind of meaningless on the whole, and it was just a show to further feuds, but boy are they treating Armageddon almost like a major PPV. Jericho winning was nice because it showed everyone that Triple H and John Cena don't have to win everything, every time they go out. It felt strange seeing Joey Styles back. I am one huge original ECW fan, and seeing him in Philly and hearing "Oh My God" brought back great memories. The Miz and Morrison continue to be one of the most entertaining teams ever, and they are good in the ring. I actually liked JBL coming out and taking the award from Shawn. JBL has been on fire as of late, and I am excited to see this payoff match, which I am assuming will not be until WrestleMania since HBK's best storylines as of late have been ones that are not rushed and take the time to focus on all aspects of a feud. My favorite part of the night though had to be when Triple H and Batista put over this new faction of Orton, Rhodes, and Manu. Orton continues to be the MVP (not the wrestler, the actual MVP) of the WWE right now next to Jericho. The strangest part of tonight, though, was the close out of the show. It was a fine ending to a match that could not end cleanly, but the strange part was that Smackdown closed out Raw. Did anyone else notice that Hardy got a much bigger pop than Hunter? Also, how great was it to hear J.R. close out Raw again?
