WWE Armageddon PPV Reax #2: "I was secretly hoping for a Christian run-in but I'm content with waiting."

Christi Lott of Garland, Tex. (9.0): Best match: Triple Threat match. Worst match: Divas Tag. The whole PPV was not as bad as I thought I was going to be. Jeff Hardy winning the WWE Title put that match over the Punk-Mysterio match. That match really showed me how much I miss the Cruiserweight Title. Koslov was more impressive this time but it's because of Matt. Orton should have gotten the win to continue interest in the feud, and the match never really took off. The Divas tag was what I expected to a point. I was expecting it to be bad. With the exception of the Maryse-Mickie part at the beginning, it was bad. Watching Michelle McCool attempt and botch the Styles Clash kinda made me throw up in my mouth. It's really pathetic what is done to try and put this woman over. I'm also surprised there was no Maria-Michelle altercation. The PPV originally was getting a 5.0 at best, but Hardy finally winning the belt made it that much sweeter. I was secretly hoping for a Christian run-in but I'm content with waiting.

Adam Riemer of New York, N.Y. (7.0): Best: It's pretty obvious; the whole backstage sequence featuring Santino, Goldust, and Boogey. Worst: Koslov's wrestling; Cena's win. Okay I was joking when I listed that segment as the best. The best was obviously the WWE finally taking the Hardy risk, I might actually watch WWE on Friday nights now. Let's start with the worst. Koslov is supposed to be this mega-heel, but he wrestles about the same way as Khali. I don't like indestructible heels. Most are just lumbering wrestlers who can't wrestle and make even the hardest/best workers in the WWE look bad in the ring. Cena's win was a disappointment. I mean I knew he would win because the WWE is in love with this guy. He is just the same character every week, every year. Raw still needs a heel champ and Cena will be stale soon enough. The Rey-Punk match was great. WWE needs to really push the upper-mid-card now. Years ago it was a highlight to see these matches; WWE didn't need to have a whole show of main eventers to be good. Hopefully WWE continues to push the upper mid card. The "who attacked Jeff" storyline is back on, subtlety. WWE can go a few ways with this - La Familia (current members) are involved, the WWE is once again rehashing Triple H with a surprise heel who attacked the mega-babyface indirectly (remember the "Who Hit Austin" angle?), or WWE is praying for Christian not to sign with TNA and return to the WWE to re-align with Edge. I am hoping for Christian to be involved. Putting the title on Hardy was amazing. I did not expect it at all, which is nice when the WWE does things like this, it has become so predictable that when someone like Hardy wins a title, it feels fresh. A decent show tonight.
