WWE Raw Reax #6: "I also felt the Punk-Jericho match really gave Punk a slap in the face..."

1/26 WWE Raw Reax

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (3.0): Best: Orton at the beginning. Worst: Orton at the end. Halfway through the Michaels-Cena match, Shawn seemed to wrestle with his equilibrium out of whack. The same could be said for the whole Raw program. Everything - matches, segments, you name it - seemed directionless. Cryme Tyme vs. Miz/Morrison was just there, even though a title was at stake. The Elimination Chamber qualifiers were also "just there" matches. Jericho-Rourke actually seems intriguing, even if WWE snubbed "The Wrestler" at first. The Michaels-JBL feud could be considered a crumbling feud if it weren't for the fact that JBL clearly cost himself his own match. Shawn wasn't questioned for not bringing in the ref nearest him instead of going clear to the back and getting a new one. Then JBL turns around and breathes down Shawn's neck and distracts the very person he hired to win him his title match. I will be very curious to see how the hairs are split on the finish. Speaking of finishes: Stephanie's answer to Orton talking trash at her, kicking Vince in the head, winning the Rumble from #8, two lawyers, a therapist, the Disability Rights Act, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase is "I'm gonna sic Shane on you?" Ooo...I'm scared. If a Grand Swerve of an Orton-McMahon alliance is supposed to be the endgame of all of this, this is a horrible way to get there.

Joseph Lawson of Las Vegas, Nev. (4.0): Best match: Mcchaels vs. Cena. Worst match: Shane McMahon vs. Legacy. What an abysmal Raw! Michaels vs. Cena wasn't the mat classic we have been privy to, however it did its job. The rest of Raw was just horribly done and didn't live up to a post-PPV Raw standard. I also felt the Punk-Jericho match really gave Punk a slap in the face with the quick loss, but after all the build-up for the IC Title, it just showed the Title has little significance. The Chamber qualifiers had absolutely no build-up or hype at all. The women's division keeps disappointing me. Mickie James - where are you? I was surprised/impressed they gave Kofi Kingston the upset victory over Kane for an EC spot. I believe they built Orton as the anti-hero WWE so sorely needed, and after the punt to Mr. McMahon, it seemed they had something going on. When I saw Shane come out, I was ecstatic and was glad to see him back and then it went completely down the drain as he becomes a superhero and takes out legacy one handed?! Triple H couldn't even do that, and somehow Shane does? I really can't put into words how horrible this ending segment was and how much more they should have and could have done to end this on a decent/possibly above-average level.
