3/9 WWE Raw Reax

Adam Riemer of New York, N.Y. (3.0): Best: HBK/Taker. Worst: That end segment. Why did I give this a 3.0? The ending segment was one of the worst ever. #1: Triple H is guilty of a home invasion, breaking an entering, assault with a deadly weapon, etc. etc. #2: Randy Orton is guilty of hitting a man in custody. #3: How the hell did Randy Orton get up after being kicked in the groin, thrown into a wall, and thrown through a freaking window? He just stands up yelling? Listen, I suspend belief all the time in wrestling. This was absurd. This is just getting so stupid between these two. Another angle that just got worse? Cena-Show-Edge. We are supposed to hate Edge. Edge is supposed to be the big heel on Smackdown. Why is the WWE writing it so we feel bad for him? Cena acted like a jackass. I wish he did in fact pull a Rock and leave wrestling for movies, at least we wouldn't be subjected to his stupid third grade humor. So who is the heel for that match? Big Show? Do I care about this match now that it is supposed to be triple threat. If this were, say "No Mercy," then I could buy Edge vs. Big Show, but this angle for WrestleMania? A cheating wife with Cena thrown in the middle? I know Edge did this months ago, but we are wrestling fans, our memories only go month to month. Jericho loses, hey it happens. A lot of me wishes he would just face Flair, at least then we know we would get a four-to-five-star legends match, not Jericho vs. some other broken down old-timer. Why is Koko B. Ware in the Hall of Fame? If he's in, why isn't The Mountie, I.R.S, Nails, or Skinner in the Hall of Fame too? So now if you have a gimmick that is stupid enough, you can get into the Hall of Fame. Christian comes back for 2.5 seconds on TV. My, how the mighty have fallen. WrestleMania has one match I am looking forward to and that is HBK vs. The Undertaker. Their exchange was fantastic. The Undertaker video was badass and the following promo from the two was just amazing. What is the worst thing the WWE could do right now? Answer: Pretty much make it seem like "No Way Out" was booked better than WrestleMania.

Alex Roberts in the U.K. (5.0): Best Match: None. Worst: JBL vs. Punk. If I didn't know better I would swear that WWE was playing this Triple H-Orton feud for laughs. The unintentional comedy of that final segment was hilarious when I'm sure it was supposed to be intense and serious. On the plus side at least some clever soul put a camera outside that window. Just in case. Away from the unintentionally hilarious WWE Title feud, we have the absolute train wreck that is the World Title feud. That contract signing was as awful, as it was inevitable, but at the same time, everyone loves a train wreck. I think this has potential as a ridiculous over-the-top storyline. Whether that's what you want for the World Title match of the biggest show of the year is another question entirely. Thankfully for all concerned, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker brought the goods and delivered a money segment to start the show. If there's one match that's going to sell WrestleMania for me this year it's HBK vs. The Dead Man. Elsewhere on Raw, the wrestling was negligible. Jericho-Kingston existed purely to set up the admittedly interesting Flair-Jericho face-to-face next week and it kicks off the Jericho vs. Flair at Mania hysteria. I suspect WWE is going to pull a fast one next week and deliver something else entirely. JBL-Punk for the IC Title was awful. The plus side of it was that JBL being the new Intercontinental Champion is a very good thing. He's a big enough star with enough backstage pull to make sure the belt doesn't get lost in the shuffle during the immediate future at least and we might actually see a Mania title defense for the first time in years. That would be nice. The six-man tag left me with one thought. What do I have to do to get a Mysterio-Morrison singles match? That would be all kinds of awesome. Speaking of Mysterio what the hell is doing at WrestleMania? Eventually WWE is going to give him a storyline, right? For the record, Christian's non-reaction during this match was a pretty good indicator of why he's on ECW and not Raw or Smackdown.
