3/24 WWE ECW on Sci-Fi TV Reax

Adam Riemer of New York, N.Y. (10.0) Best: The fact that it was more interesting that Raw and Smackdown. Worst: That it was only one hour and that eight minutes of it was dedicated to a Raw rewind. Okay, so 10.0 is pushing it, but come on. ECW is far more enjoyable than Raw or Smackdown. Evan Bourne might be the most exciting wrestler in WWE right now and Tommy Dreamer actually makes me wish for his ECW Title match and victory leading to retirement as ECW champion. The tag title program is consistently enjoyable. The Miz and Morrison are great together, as are the Colons. The lumberjack factor is okay. I am not thrilled with it, but it gives the guys who were not given a match a chance to be part of the show. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are the two most enjoyable guys I have listened to in a long time. If WWE does an announcer switch, I really hope they keep these guys together. The final segment is what got me. There was more charisma in that ring tonight than there been on both Raw and Smackdown in weeks. MVP is a great talker and a great performer. I liked him better as a heel just because he has a natural arrogance to him, but I do like him as my favorite to win the match if Christian doesn't. All the guys who talked were great; you could really feel the tension in the ring. Shelton Benjamin has become such a good heel. I wish WWE would give this guy a solid heel push. Overall, the Money in the Bank match is starting to sound fun, and I think all the guys in the match are going to make it memorable.

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (8.0): Best: Morrison vs. Carlito. Worst: Hunter-Orton replay; more movie hype. I said this last week: "Poor Jack Swagger is without an opponent, a storyline, and momentum right now. Where is Dreamer?" One week later, Dreamer and Swagger are on, but nothing has changed. Looks like ECW is shut out at WrestleMania (save for lumberjacks and dark match battle royals), and it makes no sense. Swagger isn't just in neutral; he's nearly at Full Stop. But the tag match did get things started for a Bourne-Kidd feud that could be mighty fine. Morrison-Carlito match was good; the switch to lumberjack match was lame. The match should have ended as a count-out first before Long came out to re-book and re-start. But just because there are lumberjacks does not mean there is a guaranteed winner. Wasn't there a lumberjack match not all that long ago (think it was on Raw) where the lumberjacks caused either a No Contest or DQ? Striker and Grisham kept on their good roll with their rapport. I found the "Did you know?" tete-a-tete to be very amusing, and the history tidbit about the origin of the lumberjack match added nice little touches. While the MITB segment worked to put the punctuation on the show, I would have rather seen the brawl Christian spoke of instead of Kane shooting off his pyro. It makes the fact that he's not likely to win less obvious.
