-- 9/7 WWE Raw Reax

Brian Rathjen of Eldridge, Iowa (10.0): Yes, the Price definitely was "Raw," and Bob Barker was still in prime form. He's 85 and still has a lot of stamina and enthusiasm. The way he handled Chris Jericho and immediately put him in his place was (pardon the pun) priceless, and the same goes for the Happy Gilmore reference with his handling of a whining Chavo Guerrero when Chavo thought he should have won the car by default. It was obvious the wrestling match "prizes" were gimmicks, in other words, to plug the DVD, the Chevrolet Corvette, and WrestleMania XXVI, but I was surprised there was no plug for the hot tub manufacturer. The miscommunication after the Santino-Big Show match I think was with the referee. It seemed that Bob knew what was going on, the sound effects guy surely did, and Big Show did, but not the referee. Another nitpick: no "losing horn noise" after Jericho and Guerrero lost their matches. But the action was first-rate and set up the matches appropriately for Breaking Point.

John Englert (9.5): Best match: Pricing games. Worst match: Henry vs. Show. WWE, come on down! Basically, this was a spoof of wrestling and The Price is Right. Can't wait for the Deal or No Deal version of WWE. Howie Mandel gets RKO'ed by the Banker, who is Randy Orton in disguise. This was as much fun as watching the annual shows from Iraq and you can see the wrestlers had as much fun with it too. There was no real advancing of the storylines or surprises, so we may have that at the pay-per-view on Sunday. The "pricing games" were a little campy. I was actually rooting for Jillian to win so she could kiss Bob. No Plinko? Wanted to see Mickie James and Beth Phoenix play Plinko then have a catfight. Don't Give Santino a trip to WrestleMania 26, give Santino a subscription to the Game Show Network so he can learn which show you buy a vowel, or phrase it in the form of a question! Once again, Chavo was made sport of. I wanted him to break into a "Happy Gilmore" rage when complaining to Barker about losing his match. Wonder what Vickie thinks about this? The Super soaker obviously misfired, but they did a nice job to wrap it up. Jericho is the best heel outside of Randy Orton right now in WWE and I noticed he had a stitched up brow. It was good for MVP to win, but Jericho didn't lose any heat with the loss. Time now to elevate MVP to a true main-event top level babyface. Related to Batista, it's pretty obvious next week will be a Batista "retirement" announcement which will be the long awaited Batista heel turn as he will side with Randy Orton to form a new Evolution. Now, do the contestants who didn't make it on stage, A.J., IRS, and Jillian, get a lovely parting gift, The Rise and Fall of WCW DVD?
