-- 2/4 TNA Impact TV Reax

Thomas Starr of Orlando, Fla., Massage Therapist (6.0): It's been a while since I've been a regular viewer, but Impact was mostly a very watchable show. The last time I checked out TNA (for the Monday night show), I was disappointed that they seemed focused on the older wrestlers. Nasty Boys back on TV - really? But this show was much better. They seem to have direction and seem to be pushing some younger wrestlers. The Pope got a pin on the champ (a little soon for A.J. to be losing, but a little boost for Pope), Samoa Joe was dominant, and Mr. Anderson showed that swagger that makes him a compelling wrestler. The ending of the show stunk. Two old guys wrestling a garbage match no one cares about is not my idea of compelling TV. I went to wash dishes while it was on. Even "The Band break up" was pretty silly. Too soon and Scott Hall looks like he can barely move. I mean they had to open the railing for him. Ugh. Otherwise, the show was solid and I think I will check it out next week too. Oh, and Eric Bischoff has to be the most compelling character on wrestling TV right now.

Bryan Kirckof, Torch reader: This isn't a full reaction, but I'm baffled about what I just saw with The Pope defeating A.J. Styles. So, The Pope, who I'm a fan of, gets a surprise victory over A.J. tonight. Is TNA's attention span short or what? Just a few weeks ago, The Pope was booked to lose to Orlando Jordan. So, is TNA saying Jordan is the best wrestler they have? I'm enjoying the show, but, seriously, do these people think?

Greg Clark of Brisbane, Australia: As a long-time wrestling fan for over 30 years, and a TNA fan since their inception, I have to say that their latest direction is the worst thing I have seen happen to TNA. Hogan is talking about A.J. coming on the show and the rating jams. Well that's because TNA made him into something he's not. Why change what works? He can do what nobody else is wrestling does right now. Nasty Boys couldn't work or draw money ten years ago, so why TNA brought them in is beyond me. Same for Sean Morley. As Val Venis in the late '90s, he was a very good mid-card worker, but he's done nothing since then to warrant air time now. Orlando Jordan never did anything at all and Mr. Anderson is basically ripping off his old gimmick while the talented guys who can work aren't getting air time. TNA could have done a lot of good here, but they brought in tired, old workers to re-create storylines that have already been done. Who's a heel and who's a face in TNA? Does anybody know or do they make it up as they go along? If TNA flops, what does Hogan care? His legacy is set. It's the other guys in TNA I feel sorry for: Daniels, Joe, Beer Money, Guns. What happens to them if TNA sinks in a large hole?
