-- WWE Raw Reax 1/9

Baun of Ashland, Ky. (2/5): Best Match: Punk vs. Ziggler. Worst: Santino/Sheamus vs. Barrett/Mahal. I was really enjoying the Kane promo at first, but it seemed to drag on forever after just a few minutes. The backstage brawl he had with John Cena might have been more enjoyable, had I not watched Orton and Barrett do it a million times already! ... I was hoping C.M. Punk would debut a new title tonight after that "show off" Dolph Ziggler stole his belt at the close of last week's show, but, to my dismay, Punk had the same title around his waist, and they didn't even mention how he got it back. ... It seems the audience is having a hard time accepting R-Truth as a face, and having him use his finisher on the scared, singing Ricardo didn't help matters. ... Jericho's second week back is proving to be just as odd as his first week. The whole situation is honestly starting to annoy me, and I would really like some answers to tie in his return with his videos. But, I will not judge harshly just yet, I can be patient. ... How about that big bad guy Brodus Clay making his debut? He's from where? He's wearing what? Dancing you say? What a farce! ... I usually enjoy Raw more than other shows, but this week was just awful. I don't think I honestly enjoyed any of the feuds, and having Zack Ryder on my television that much was just mind numbing. I'm also not thrilled with the Kane-Cena feud is overshadowing the WWE Title feud! Overall, I thought it was a poor show, especially for the second week of the new year.

Justin Greeder of Columbus, Ohio (7.0): This is my first time writing a Reax, and I am doing it strictly for Brodus Clay. Am I the only person who thinks this is great and is going to work? There is no way anybody saw this coming. Big Johnny has been building up for months that he has been pushing back this monster to get him angrier and angrier, and this is how he returns? I kind of think they must have just made the decision in the last couple weeks to give him this gimmick. And, what a gimmick! When they showed the sign on his dressing room door before commercial, my roommate noticed that it had a sort of disco look to it. Little did we know. I loved the old school hip-hop look (can’t wait for him to get a giant rope chain and four-finger rings once he gets over). I loved how he was talking to the crowd and calling his spots throughout the match. And, you all know this is going to bring Snoop Dogg back into WWE again, right? Brodus used to be Snoop’s bodyguard (that’s where he got his name), and I can definitely see him rapping Brodus down to the ring at WrestleMania.

Darren of Roseville, Calif.: I give TNA a 3.0 this week. With Brodus Clay coming out like a flashy Rikishi to the C.M. Punk-Laurinaitis feud trying to match Stone Cold-Vince authority figure to...wait a minute, this is WWE, not TNA. I swear I was watching a TNA taping. I thought the second Raw of 2012 did not make things look good for WWE right now. Maybe the creative team figured no one was watching because of the BCS Title game, but something has to change and I'm talking soon!

Richard H. of Wilmington, Ohio (7.5): I thought that was a relatively entertaining episode of Raw last night. The best was Punk's match with the Big johnny subterfuge putting a spin on his tendency for RR25. Is he being fair? Is it a sneak attack? Does he really have no preference on the title-holder? The creative team managed to put a little doubt in there as to his true intentions. Kudos also on the Funk-a-saurus Brodus Clay. Initially I was aghast , flashing back to 2 Cold Scorpio's burial as the Funkmaster. But, Brodus seemed to be having lots of fun with it... The less said about the Ryder/Cena/Eve-Kane scenario the better. And, as for the first inductee for 2012 HOF, a better choice could not have been made than Adam Copeland. The Horsemen going in as a specific unit? Not so much. The Horsemen brand (with its multiple line-ups) should have been inducted last year in Atlanta. Overall, I thought it was a very good Raw with no stand-out canine bombs to step into. Oh, but I am already tired of Y2J and whatever they are going to do with wrestling's premier enhancement talent.
