Steve in North Carolina, PWTorch VIP member: Frankly, I thought this WrestleMania started off weak, but picked up steam. The two major matches, Undertaker vs. Triple H and Rock vs. Cena absolutely delivered. I thought Hunter vs. Taker was fantastic and told and amazing story, which moved me emotionally at the end. Wrestling doesn't do that to me often, or ever anymore. Rock vs. Cena was so much better than I thought it would be and I am truly, truly fascinated to see where Cena goes from here. I am definitely one of the anti-Cena people, but I'm riveted to see how his character handles the loss and whether this will make him evolve. I'm not saying a heel turn, but for Cena to become somewhat introspective and examine it. Also, I did find it curious the way the announcers hinted that Cena lost because he tried to show off. Not sure where that's going, maybe with Cena becoming very upset at himself and going on a tear. Either way, I thought it was an awesome show.
Mike Omansky, PWTorch correspondent (7.0): Best Match: Rock-Cena. Second Best: Undertaker-Hunter. Worst Match: Divas tag. Very strong show. Rock-Cena delivered, with the right finish (Rock really is better, and now it opens up for another future Rock main event.) Hunter-Undertaker, with Shawn Michaels in the middle, was excellent for what it was (i.e. a brawl, not straight wrestling match); played out very well... I really liked Sheamus's quick title win. Kane-Orton delivered, with a big win for Kane. Miz may be re-invented having gotten the pin in the tag match. Jericho-Punk was okay, but not as good as I would have expected. Overall, the show met expectations; exceeded in some spots, especially the "Hell in a Cell" encounter.
Sean Green, Firefighter (4.5): Best Match: Triple H-Undertaker. Worst Match: Sheamus-Bryan. This was your standard run of the mill booking. Very safe on all accounts. I got the feeling from this PPV that WWE is not taking Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan very seriously. What a shame. Show-Rhodes and Orton-Kane were average, and the Divas match was a case of Beth Phoenix carrying two Divas and someone who had no business in the ring... Triple H-Taker was a great example of what WWE was at one time. Great storytelling, great workmanship, and a great finish... The ten-man tag was what I expected - more Johnny Ace... Punk-Jericho was a show-stealer, but the stipulation killed the momentum before the match started... Brodus Clay at WrestleMania? For that?!? ... I am so glad The Rock vs. Cena appears to be finally finished. The way they handled this match from the very start was irrational. Why do a year-long build and get a pay-off like that? That should hurt Cena for a while.
Jon Karesh of San Francisco, Calif., PWTorch VIP member PattersonandStevens (8.0): Best Match: Undertaker vs. Triple H. Worst Match (if you can call it a match): Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan. After a slow first hour, the show came on really strong, with Undertaker vs. Triple H turning into one of the best matches I have ever seen. Punk vs. Jericho was a really good match, though the lack of crowd heat during the first part of the match took something away from it. Rock vs. Cena was a lot of fun. The Rock worked much harder than he had to and I popped big for the finish... Bryan is my favorite wrestler in WWE and I was deeply disappointed with his non-match. While I expected him to lose, I had hoped that he and Sheamus were going to contend for match of the night. He deserves much better and I fear he is going to be pushed down to the mid-card now.
Reid Shimizu of Honolulu, Hawaii (9.0): Best Match: Undertaker vs. Triple H. Worst Match: Sheamus vs. Bryan. An excellent show and worth the money. The Big Three matches delivered big-time and kept my friends and I entertained. I was disappointed in the Sheamus match due to the quick finish. I hope this leads more Daniel Bryan shenanigans, though.
