We know The Rock vs. John Cena will get top billing at WrestleMania, but what should the undercard feature? There are a lot of moving parts right now in WWE, which in coming weeks could settle in a lot of different ways with vastly different line-ups. Chris Jericho, for instance, could land in a number of positions on the card.

It’s difficult to imagine Jericho returning to WWE without some reassurances of a top spot at WrestleMania. As he wrote in his second autobiography, “Undisputed,” he was greatly disappointed with his payday after WrestleMania 18. He complained and got a second bonus check written. His first check was just five-figures; he was thinking it’d be closer to seven.

What match would be co-main event worthy, given that Cena is tied up with Rock?

C.M. Punk is one option that makes sense. On Raw this week, Jericho teamed with Punk and Daniel Bryan. Jericho walked out on the match after being tagged in, but before touching his opponents. That could plant a seed of tension between Jericho and Punk, both of whom have laid claim to being the best in the world at what they do.

For Punk, it’d be a chance to wrestle someone with whom he could have a memorable WrestleMania-worthy match. Jericho appears to be in the best shape he’s been in since perhaps the late 1990s in WCW. Together on the mic they could create some magic moments; that is, if Jericho ever gets around to actually speaking. If Punk is still the WWE Champion, then Jericho could end up in the second or third top billed match on the show, ahead of other top stars like Randy Orton, The Miz, and Mark Henry.

Other possible opponents for Jericho? A newly turned babyface Mark Henry? Randy Orton? They could work, but what about a newly turned babyface The Miz? The Miz feels lost in the shuffle right now, a full notch below last year at this time as he was headed to a successful WWE Title defense against Cena in the WrestleMania main event (although Cena needlessly ignored him during the hype, for the most part, concentrating on The Rock instead). Jericho and Miz have exchanged Twitter digs in recent months and are friends in real life, so this could work. However, it seems premature and it’s tough to see an obvious path there in the next two months. So Jericho vs. Punk seems most likely.

If that’s the case, then what about on the Smackdown side? Henry isn’t pleased with his World Title reign ending due to a relatively minor groin injury. He was thought to be on his way to being the indestructible undefeated virtually unstoppable force headed into WrestleMania. Instead, he’s in the mix, but has lost moment as the third wheel in the Daniel Bryan-Big Show storyline.

Henry, just two months ago, seemed like he was a lock to be in a marquee match, now could end up in the mid-card. Will he turn babyface before WrestleMania? If so, what top heel would be a formidable opponent? Could Henry be booked to squash the pesky undersized newly turned Bryan? Perhaps, but that doesn’t feel like a grand spotlight match for someone who was a big part of Smackdown’s rise in the ratings lately.

It’s hard to imagine Orton ending up in a mid-card match, but with his injury and time off, can they heat him up in time to get in a top level feud that feels worthy of the WrestleMania co-main event slot? He seems to be the most rumored person to......
