11/4 WWE in Stockton, Calif..: Kane vs. MVP, Mysterio & Batista defeated Finlay & Khali Nov 7, 2007 - 5:28:58 PM
WWE Smackdown/ECW house show
November 4, 2007
Stockton, Calif.
Report by Steve Maddux, PWTorch VIP member
The show was really bad overall with only a couple of good matches. The arena holds around 8,000 and it wasn't even half full. The middle and upper decks were all tarped off. Tons kids there to see Rey and oddly enough Cena who is injured and hasn't been on Smackdown since 2005.
The show kicked off with a 10 bell tribute to Fabulous Moolah and then a girl in a wheel chair sang the National Anthem.
(1) John Morrison defeated Tommy Dreamer in a decent match. Morrsion won with a spinning leg drop.
(2) Chuck Palumbo defeated Chavo Guerrero. This match was awful. Chuck stunk the place up. He botched numerous moves including a big boot. Chuck won with a powerslam. He didn't come to the ring on his motorcycle and Michelle McCool was not with him.
(3) Mark Henry squashed Shannon Moore with a splash.
(4) Torrie Wilson defeated Victoria with Funaki serving as guest Referee. This was really bad and it was mostly all comedy spots that were far from funny. Torrie won with a rollup.
(5) Kane defeated MVP on a DQ in one of the worst matches I have ever seen live. MVP was DQ'd when he hit Kane with a low blow. Kane got a huge pop but was booed when he didn't have pyro.
Intermission then took place and was about 20 minutes long. Layla and Kelly came out and gave some free merchandise away and danced.
(6) C.M. Punk defeated The Miz with the GTS to retain the ECW title in the match of the show. The crowd was really into Punk.
(7) Drew McIntyre defeated Jimmy Yang in a really bad match. Most people had no idea who Drew was. The crowd was super dead for this one. McIntyre won with a neckbreaker of some sort that looked really bad.
(8) Rey Mysterio & Batista defeated Finlay & The Great Khali in a good match. Khali didn't do much wich was good. Finlay and Mysterio worked most of the match. Khali walked out on Finlay near the end. Rey pinned Finlay after a spring board leg drop. The crowd was really into this mostly for Rey. Batista got a decent ovation but he wasn't as over as Punk, Rey or Kane.
NOTES: I feel really ripped off by this show. Not only were the matches mostly bad but not counting intermission it only lasted aprox. 2 hours an 5 minutes. This was the worst WWE show I have ever been to period and if Smackdown comes back anytime soon I seriously doubt I will attend. Oh, and keep up the excellent work on the site. I love all the audio updates especially the Daily Keller Hotline.
QUICK TIPS FOR SENDING RESULTS
If you attend an arena event in future, either house shows or TV tapings, we encourage you to send us a report for publication. You can direct your reports to "matchresults07" (@pwtorch. com).
We accept reports in any format, but if it's not much trouble, please format your report like you see above, with the matches numbered like this (1) , (2) , (3) , with the opening line of each match paragraph stating who beat whom (don't just say Wrestler A vs. Wrestler beat with the result listed later; instead, state up front who won so those readers who don't have time to read the entire report (i. e. their boss walks past their cubicle all the time looking beat their shoulder) can at least quickly assess the results.
Also, please list tag teams using the "&" symbol as opposed to stating "and. " Reserve use of " and" when listing results in a three-way or four-way match where there are no teams (i. e. " Wrestler A beat Wrestler B and Wrestler C in a three-way match" ) so it is easy to differentiate a handicap match from a three-way match.
If you know HTML coding for bolding, you can also bold out the first line of each match description. If you don't know HTML symbols, then we can add those ourselves.
Special thanks to everyone who helps us with reports on live events!
