WWE News: Fabulous Moolah funeral with Steph & Vince, Survivor Series Poll, Cruiserweight Title Nov 8, 2007 - 11:34:32 AM
-MyrtleBeachOnline.com reports that Fabulous Moolah was buried yesterday. She had a white casket with gold accents, carried to the hymn "The Old Rugged Cross." About 200 people attended the noon service. Stephanie McMahon and Vince McMahon gave the eulogies for her. Stephanie told of the time her grandfather, Vince McMahon Sr., founder of what would become the WWE, surprised a young Ellison with a cake on her birthday.
"She couldn't believe anyone even knew it was her birthday," McMahon-Levesque said. "She felt like she was a part of the McMahon family. And I'd like to say that she is very much a part of the McMahon family. She always will be." Article Link
-At WWE.com, a poll asks visitors which of the four announced matches at Survivor Series they are most looking forward to. The Hell in a Cell is no. 1 with 39 percent, the traditional Elimination Match is no. 2 with 31 percent, and Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels is no. 3 with 17 percent. What's scary for Michaels and Orton isn't that they received less than half the votes of Batista-Taker, but that they barely beat out Great Khali vs. Hornswoggle, which received 13 percent of votes to finish no. 4. Obviously, many of those votes weren't "serious," but nevertheless if Vince McMahon distributes PPV pay based on this poll, Hornswoggle will earn nearly as much as Michaels.
-The Smackdown page at WWE.com no longer lists the WWE Cruiserweight Title. It appears the title has been indefinitely retired. WWE.com still features a list of all past champs dating back to WCW's initial feud between Brian Pillman and Jushin Liger over the new belt: Cruiserweight Title History.
