WWE News: In-depth in-person report on McMahon's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in Hollywood (w/photo) Mar 15, 2008 - 3:43:19 AM
PWTorch.com reader Scott Schultz sent the following notes from attending the Vince McMahon Hollwyood Walk of Fame Star Ceremony on Friday afternoon.
-Vince McMahon was joined by Shane McMahon and Triple H, who both spoke. Linda McMahon was there, but she didn't speak. They referred to the WWE Films head and the WWE marketing department, but I can't remember who did the referrals. It may have been Vince.
-There was a several hundred people in attendence. I've lived in Hollywood for over a decade and attended dozens of these ceremonies, and this was one of the most packed and they were the rowdiest (in a friendly way) crowd I've seen - with the possible exception of when Mottley Crue got their star.
-When the President of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce who was emceeing would pause for breath while speaking, the entire crowd was screaming, "WHAT?" Triple H and Shane were laughing at the fan responses, while Vince leaned his head back against a wall in thought.
-Shane opened with the story about when Vince took over as anouncer on Vince Sr.'s show. No dancing by Shane. Triple H referred to Vince being his father in Law and called him the closest thing he had to a father. He brought up the time he stuffed Vince's head up the Big Show's ass. When a fan in the crowd screamed out, "Where's Stephanie?" Triple H said she was home because she's pregnant."

-Vince began his acceptance speech with the "biggest star" line, but he was very humle for most of the speech. He called it an honor to be immortalized among all the famous names, then he reverted back to the Vince character. As the fans serenaded him with chants of "ASS-HOLE," he extended his offense that people would soon be stepping on his name, and his utter horror that someone may actually walk their dog over his star and defile his name. That is probably the funniest thing I've ever heard at one of these ceremonies.
-At the end of his speech, Vince looked truly humbled. The guests were friendly to the crowds, and it wasn't terribly difficult to get pictures, although the crowd was huge compared to a typical star ceremony. I had to get back to my office and didn't see if they talked to the crowds afterward.
-By the way, if you ever go to Hollywood, his star is located directly in front of the Hollywood and Highland subway station, a half block East of the Chinese Theater.
