WrestleMania News: Close witness to fireworks mishap details injuries suffered at Citrus Bowl Mar 31, 2008 - 1:16:33 AM
PWTorch.com reader Dominic DeFiore sent in the following eyewitness report to the fireworks malfunction at the end of WrestleMania last night at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla...
I would like to add to the firework story. My stepdad was there with me, and at the end of the show, the fireworks that made the streaming noise and crashed from the top of the lights to the stage went off. They were attached to a guy cable to guide them. There were six cables and three of them on our side failed. Not only did the cable strike him, but so did the fireworks on him. He wasn't the only one in our section to get hit; about four other people did. It was interesting how long it took them to get someone to file a report, and all he did was write information down on a piece of paper.
Also interesting to note, during the Big Show match, there were two fights in the crowd, and it was at a boring point in the match, so everyone in the crowd was watching the fight, chanting fight, and then the cops got involved and tazed the guy.
If anyone else attended WrestleMania in person and can send details regarding the fireworks mishap or any other live observations, we welcome you to send them in for future posts.
