3/31 WWE Raw HOLT report: What the live crowd saw that the TV viewers didn't Apr 1, 2008 - 3:30:34 PM
WWE Raw HOLT report
March 31, 2008
Orlando, Fla.
Report by Troy Throne of Hudson, Fla., PWTorch.com reader
I attended this event and it was worth every dollar. First the non-Flair stuff. Crowd was hot all night long. Here are some notes:
-The fans went wild when Matt Hardy came out and attacked Randy Orton. Big pop for Hardy during their match, but oddly enough the crowd switched to Orton by the end and the pop was huge for his win.
-The crowd was actually very hot for the Big Show; must not have come across on TV.
-Biggest Non-Flair pop of the night was actually for Santino's rant against Maria.
-In my section, the Dusty Rhodes video didn't come across very well. There were a lot of jokes about his lisp, more than one "Bobby Boucher" joke.
-The Ric Flair speech was spectacular. Crowd was wild the entire time. Even more so after Raw went off the air. The Undertaker came out doing his usual entrance, then went out of character to embrace him then knelt before him.
-After that Vince came out with a huge smile on his face and hugged Ric. Vince was out of character and seemed genuinely happy. After that, Ric took off his jacket and dropped an elbow and a kneedrop and the crowd and all the wrestlers ate it up.
-Everyone including all the wrestlers were bowing to Ric in unison as he took his walk up the stage with his family he took the time to give out hugs and handshakes.
-The crowd was "Hogan in Toronto" hot the entire time.
-It was the best event you could ever go to live. You will never be ashamed to be a wrestling fan after seeing something like that. Truly a magical night.
