Sean Banks (8.5): Best Match: Fatal Four Way. Worst: Show/Khali. I attended Backlash last night. My first WWE PPV in five years. I can't tell you how much I've missed going to them. After WCW folded in 2000, I found myself not caring much to attend events since then. I've been to a few house shows and a few independent shows, but nothing beats going to a PPV in person. The fatal four way was an amazing match. I was shocked to see that Cena and JBL went out so quickly, but it set the stage for an amazing 15-plus minutes of just Triple H vs. Orton. I liked that a lot. It was funny, earlier in the night, some confetti fell into the section I was sitting it, so I kind of figured something was going to happen in the main event. Even though I was pulling for Edge, he along with Taker put on a great match and a put an end to a great feud. Hopefully, Edge returns sooner than later. He is one of my favorites. HBK vs. Batista was really good as well. I really thought HBK was hurt after tweaking the leg. Even after the match it took Y2J and another ref to help him to the back. If he did get hurt and it's not part of the storyline, props to him for delivering that "Sweet Chin Music." It was sweet. The other match that stole the show was the opener. Congrats to Matt Hardy. It's been a long time coming. Hopefully he can capitalize on what his brother yet again screwed up. I could've done without the other three matches, but the ones I mentioned far outweighed the rest. One other comment, for the guy who posted earlier about the TNA feelers, it wasn't a TNA feeler, it was a local promotion (MCW) promoting there event with a couple TNA stars that are attending (James Storm and ODB). I got one as well. I hate it when people bash a product they don't even care to watch. To me, if you don't follow TNA/ROH etc. you aren't a true wrestling fan. I enjoy each product for what it is and what it has to offer.

Eric Gall of Bridgeport, Conn. (4.0): Best Match: Hardy-MVP. Worst Match: Show-Khali. I suppose if you haven't watched the product much over the last couple of years, this PPV might seem fresh and entertaining. To me, however, this show perfectly reflects what seems to be the M.O. of the WWE's current booking philosophy: diminishing returns. For just how long are we going to see the same four or five faces in the main event? I'm amazed that fans aren't bored of seeing John Cena, Triple H, and Undertaker dominate everybody over and over. It's not like we're talking about Steve Austin or the Rock here - the current main eventers are simply more of the same, and what they offer is just not that compelling. There is no sign of innovation or ingenuity in this company anymore. It's hard to believe that Matt Hardy hasn't won the U.S. Title earlier - I really don't know if the potential gold mine the company has in a Hardy-MVP feud for the Smackdown title will ever be realized, but those two had a great match that fans can appreciate, and its extension into a money feud in the main event seems like a no-brainer. Kane as ECW champ is just wrong, and further proof that they should just call the brand something else at this point, since Dreamer and Tazz are the only things left that are/were extreme. I've been watching WWF/E PPVs at the local Hooters since 2001. I remember treating these nights like the must-see events that they were. But I can't think of the last one of these shows that I would actually pay money for, maybe WrestleMania XX. That was four years ago. Until the company wakes up and gets off the main event merry-go-round, the next boom period in the business is still years away.
