WWE News: Undertaker's future updated - is he retired, taking time off, or coming back quickly? (w/Keller Analysis) Jun 4, 2008 - 12:40:51 PM
Undertaker is not retiring for good. He is taking time off to let nagging, mounting injuries heal, according to a report this morning from Jason Powell at prowrestling.NET. For more exclusive details, plus notes on how Raw was rewritten on Monday night, CLICK HERE.
Keller's Analysis:Doing fake retirements is short-term thinking. I don't think anybody really wants to see Undertaker retire, especially in such a relatively anti-climactic manner as on a One Night Stand PPV. However, teasing fans with his potential permanent retirement, with Mick Foley putting his credibility on the line and vouching for this being permanent, is really counter-productive in the long-run as it chips away at the credibility and believability of future retirement stipulations. WWE better have a great storyline to explain to his return down the line and not just ignore that the stipulation was there and everyone in WWE from Foley to Jim Ross vouched for it.
