Interview Highlights: John Cena and Michelle McCool on Fox Sports' Best Damn Sport Show Jun 4, 2008 - 12:52:16 PM
Thanks to PWTorch.com reader Andre Polizzi of San Jose, Calif. for the following recap of John Cena and Michelle McCool on FSN's Best Damn Sport Show...
John Cena was billed as a guest host along with former NFL running back Eddie George. They joined hosts Charissa Thompson, John Salley, and Gary Payton. Chris Rose is off this week.
In the opening roundtable discussion, Cena jumped in here and there on the topics of the Celtics-Lakers NBA finals, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens' new contract, and running back Travis Henry's bizarre release by the Denver Broncos.
After the break, they showed a clip of Cena's Best Damn rap from his last time on the show, showed clips of him throwing out the first pitch at a Boston Red Sox game; a terrible throw that hit the ballgirl in the leg and injured her, according to Cena.
Thompson, Salley, and Cena then did an interview with Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Eric Byrnes. They talked about baseball and Byrnes admitted to being a Cena and wrestling fan.
Back from another break, the five hosts had a discussion about WWE current and upcoming events: Shawne Merriman's involvement at One Night Stand, McMahon's money giveaway, and the WWE Draft.
After another break and 40 minutes into the show, Michelle McCool finally got to come out as a guest. She was interviewed by all five hosts. She talked about how she entered the Diva search on a dare from her dad and grandfather.
They talked about her nickname "the All-American Girl" and how it fits her, since she is beautiful and smart. We learned she was an "Academic All-American" in softball when she was in school. They also made sure to bring up Jimmy Kimmel's brother Sal fighting on Michelle's show Smackdown this Friday night.
Following the final commercial break Michelle was gone, but suddenly out of nowhere Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was in the live studio audience, waving to the camera. They ended the show with clips of athletes and mascots fighting each other to get Cena's reaction.
