John Cena's surgery on a herniated disc in his neck earlier today was reportedly a success.
The large disc fragment that was removed from Cena had been pressing against his spinal cord and causing numnbness in his right arm.
His neurosurgeon told WWE.com that he estimates Cena can return to action in six to eight weeks. He also said similar surgeries performed on several NFL players resulted in them being able to play again.
Keller's Analysis: It sounds a bit ominous, actually, to have the neurosurgeon feel the need to go out of his way to say that other athletes who had similar surgery were able to return to their sport. It sounds as if there was concern Cena's career might have been threatened.
