WWE News: Raw sneak peek - dangerous divas match to air tonight; winner gets Beth Phoenix at Royal Rumble Dec 29, 2008 - 5:33:02 PM
WWE will not only be determining the #1 contender to the WWE World Hvt. Title currently held by John Cena on tonight's Raw, but also the #1 contender to Beth Phoenix's Women's Title.
The winner of a six-diva battle royale will face Beth for the title at the Royal Rumble in January. Participants announced on WWE's website tonight are Candice Michelle, Jillian Hall, Mickie James, Katie Lea, Kelly Kelly, and Melina.
As we detailed over the weekend, Candice is returning to the ring after a month-long absence. She wrote on her WWE Universe blog that she's more focused on being a good wrestler, with her heart back into what she's doing. PWTorch report on her in-ring return.
The divas battle royale has a history of injuries, however, making it a dangerous proposition. Former diva Ashley Massaro was infamously injured on the Feb. 20, 2006 edition of Raw when she fell through the ropes and fractured her left fibula, ending a noteworthy feud against Mickie James.
