WWE News: Expected return date for Mr. Kennedy, who he would like to wrestle when he returns Jan 13, 2009 - 11:56:10 AM
WWE star Mr. Kennedy is still well over a month away from even thinking about returning to a wrestling ring after suffering a dislocated shoulder last year and needing extensive recovery time.
Kennedy, frustrated by another injury setback, is set to meet with Dr. James Andrews on February 28 to get the "okay" to return to the ring, hopefully in time for WrestleMania 25.
"It's been extremely frustrating," Kennedy told Kevin Eck in the Baltimore Sun. "I think you just have to keep your head up, though."
He says he's slowly getting full range of motion back in his shoulder, but it's tough to stay motivated to train for wrestling shape when the rehab on the shoulder is so draining.
"I've just been in the wrong place at the wrong time," Kennedy said about the injury bug striking him. "I had the Money in the Bank and was on the way to becoming a world champion and then injury struck. And it's just been one thing after the other, but I just keep my head up. I was told a long time ago that if you have talent you cannot be denied and eventually good things will happen."
Kennedy is part of the Smackdown brand and hopes to return to the ring with a feud against Triple H. "We've done it on a couple house shows, and we've had a couple tag matches together on TV, but not a whole lot of contact," he said. "He is the man right now and I'd really like to get in there with him."
Kennedy has been on TV for the past month hyping the "Behind Enemy Lines" WWE film and defends the movie against critics of the movie. "It's just a fun action movie — nothing more, nothing less," he said.
"It's not going to win Oscars. It's not going to be Picture of the Year or anything like that, but it's a fun movie if you're in that type of mood."
Hopefully Trips gives him the Kenny Dykstra treatment when he comes back.
Kennedy's a generic, stale wrestler who should feel lucky to be in the
midcard.

I don't feel exactly the same way you do, but I feel he's never quite
regained what he had when he first appeared on WWE television. When he left
that first time (suspension? injury?) he came back and was never the same.

Kennedy is someone I've always hoped to see realize his full potential. I
really think he can be a strong character and his ring skills are plenty
adequate. Something just tells me he may be about done, unfortunately. I
hope I'm wrong.

I'm a Kennedy fan, and am looking for him to return to the ring. I just
hope he stays healthy. The one thing that irks me with him is that his
matches just look a little sloppy/ugly. Now this may be half his
opponents, but his style just seems a little off in the ring. I hope he
comes back and get a good steady push. He'd be a great #2 or #3 face on
RAW.

I liked him better when he was an arrogant heel.

Spot on Rabid, he sucks as a babyface, much like Carlito, another wrestler
better suited as a hell.

Kennedy has always impressed me and entertained me every second he's on TV.
God only knows where he'd be today if it weren't for the injuries and
suspension.
He's got EVERYTHING, and I do mean EVERYTHING that a good WWE caliber
wrestler needs. WWE doesn't have a guy more suited to be the face of their
company than him. I hope that this time, Kennedy will go places.

HHH is not the man right now...Jeff Hardy and Edge are. Better to watch and
more interesting things are going on with them. Kennedy STILL SUCKS. Stay
uninjured for more than 3 months, you bum.
