Former WWE wrestler Eric Escobar was interviewed on the Monday Night Mayhem radio show this week about WWE rushing his storyline introduction with Vickie Guerrero, losing a PPV payoff at the Bragging Rights PPV, and interesting comments on Sheamus working too stiff in the ring.

-- Escobar said he's still trying to figure out what WWE was trying to do with him and Vickie Guerrero when he was introduced on Smackdown as her love interest. He says there was more potential to their storyline, but WWE didn't invest the time to make it work.

"One of the things Vickie and I always asked each other was 'why were they rushing everything?' It seemed like they were trying to rush everything on one week to the next; we had no story," Escobar said. "The only story is that she went to Puerto Rico, she met you, and that was it. We wanted to build up some kind of a story -- like how did it happen/was I working in Puerto Rico/was she scouting talent? They never gave us an explanation on the whole thing."

Escobar also described what many former WWE wrestlers have said about one person in management telling him to do one thing and another person in management telling him to do something else, which usually ends with management frustrated with a talent and the wrestler released. In Escobar's instance, he says he was trying to listen to WWE head Vince McMahon.

"Vince wanted me to be this ruthless, very intense, very intense Latino, and I said 'Cool, I have no problem with that.' But the people that were in charge of putting my matches together were telling me some other things, and I was like 'Who do I pay attention to?' Obviously I was going to pay attention to Vince, but at the same time, I have this guy in my ear telling me 'you have to do this,' so it was kinda' confusing at times. I think I did the best I could with what they were giving me to work with," Escobar said.

-- Escobar talked about the Bragging Rights PPV in October when WWE pulled Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, and he from Team Smackdown just before the PPV because the team looked too weak compared to Raw's team. Escobar says he was upset losing a PPV payday and thought WWE could have made stars with the match.

"To be completely honest, I missed out on that payday, and that really sucked and really pissed me off. To be honest, I don't know what happened. We get there at the show (Smackdown taping before the PPV when the teams were switched), and I'm talking to Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre when (Smackdown head writer) Michael Hayes got all the guys together, and he said they we were losing our spots on the Pay-Per-View," Escobar said. "And we looked at each other and I was like 'What the f---?' I'm looking at all the guys, and saying 'Who messed up here?,' and 'What happened?' He said it wasn't us, but that they looked at the team itself, and it looked weak."

Escobar added: "I thought it was the younger generation wave of younger talent. What better way to put us in the ring with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Jericho, Big Show -- with all these superstars and make all of us at the same time. But they didn't see it that way, and apparently it was just that. That's what they told us, and I'm pretty sure the WWE has never lied to anyone before, so I'm gonna leave you with that."

-- Escobar also talked about Drew McIntyre being the legit "chosen one" in Vince McMahon's eyes to be his next WWE champion, while suggesting former WWE champion Sheamus works too stiff in the ring. He also pointed out that WWE has paired Sheamus with the right wrestlers to make him look good in the ring.

"Sheamus is very aggressive in the ring, very intense...sometimes a little too intense. This is supposed to be entertainment, and we are supposed to make it look real, but not make it real," Escobar said. "As far as him being a great worker, let's just say they are putting him in the ring with the right people right now. I'm not saying he's a bad worker, but I'm saying he's not that good right now. He could be great in the future, but not right now. And they already gave him a good run, and that's great. He's made. All he has to do is follow the program, and he'll be great."
