NXT Rookie Michael Tarver referenced Torch specialist Jon Mezzera's latest NXT "Hits & Misses" column in a WWE Universe blog responding to questions about whether WWE will actually feature him or whether he'll be the "weakest link" on the show.

"I know I am not the weak link but the world doesn't know that," Tarver said. "I know that I am a very good technical wrestler and I have learned the art of making the universe believe but I still have a lot to learn which is why I am an NXT rookie."

Tarver also talked about his WWE "mentor" Carlito, saying he has a reputation for being "lazy and careless," but he's learned from watching Carlito prepare for matches.

"When I watch him prepare for a match I am inspired because he knows what he is capable of no matter what is said about him and he goes out every night and does what he knows how to do," Tarver said.

Mezzera wrote about Tarver in his latest NXT Hits & Misses review: "After three episodes of NXT, Tarver has gotten the least amount of an introduction. This Miss isn't for Tarver himself, but for the fact that WWE hasn't done anything to introduce us to him other than this vague notion that he can knock someone out in 1.9 seconds. He wasn't able to do that in taking a loss in the first week. The second week he wasn't on. The third week he was only on in Carlito's corner for his (solid) match against Heath Slater. Bryan has been the center piece, but they have also done a good job of introducing us to the rest of the crew with the exception of Tarver. Maybe he is the weakest link and they know it which is why they haven't given him much time so far. But, the show is supposed to highlight these eight rookies equally to have the coaches judge them, and that hasn't happened thus far."

Caldwell's Analysis: WWE really hasn't done anything with Tarver since his introductory video package on Week 1. I thought it was one of the better videos they've put together, then Tarver was inexplicably thrust into a house show-quality tag match where he was booked to lose right after WWE introduced him to the audience. Perhaps WWE will re-evaluate Tarver's potential in the weeks to come, as one of the disappointments with the show has been WWE's lack of emphasis on Tarver after the intro video.
