-- WWE has posted Day 1 of Bret Hart's WrestleMania Weekend Diary chronicling the big weekend for the Hart Family. Bret says over 40 members of the Hart Family are expected to be in Phoenix, especially for Stu Hart's WWE Hall of Fame induction.

The Diary includes photos of Hart and his grown-up son, Blade, traveling through Phoenix for the WrestleMania activities, including Wednesday night's art exhibit.

WWE posted photos of some of the art work drawn by Bret Hart and Jerry Lawler, who created an amazing sketch drawing of Hart for the event. The story is worth checking out for the art work alone, including Hart's caricatures of this year's WrestleMania stars similar to the artwork on the front and back covers of his autobiography.

-- WWE also posted a story on yesterday's Art Exhibit with quotes from Santino on using "Photoshop" and Beth Phoenix.

The Arizona Republic also published a story on the event, noting that Bret Hart's art work raised $3,200 and Jerry Lawler's raised $3,000 for a charity auction.

-- Torch reader David Carstensen sent in more notes on last night's Roddy Piper comedy show in Tempe, Ariz. (Read our detailed report on Piper's set here.)

After the event ended, close to 100 fans waited in the lobby for Piper to emerge in hopes of obtaining an autograph or photo. Sgt. Slaughter spent close to 30 minutes mingling with fans after the show, signing autographs and taking pictures, as did Piper's son Colt. Before Sarge left, he announced, "Piper has left the building!" in an attempt to disperse the crowd. It didn't work.

The crowd became a little overzealous waiting, but 45 minutes later, out came Piper, who pulled a table up and made sure to meet fans, take photos, and sign anything presented to him. Piper seemed genuine and caring with the fans, giving out hugs and kisses and making sure to ask everyone their name and really taking time to meet that person. Everyone got their moment with Roddy. A total class act.

As for his show, I'd recommend it to any casual or hardcore wrestling fan. Piper is a polarizing figure, and his storytelling is a throwback to yesteryear, and very reminiscent to sitting on your grandfather's lap being told a tall tale. There really is no act. It's just Piper being Piper.
