WWE weekend tour news & notes

-- The main event of this weekend's dual-brand tour of Winnipeg, Fargo, N.D., and Las Cruces, N.M. was WWE champion C.M. Punk defeating The Miz.

The top match from the Smackdown brand was Daniel Bryan retaining the World Title against Big Show by getting DQ'ed each night. Mark Henry was advertised for three-way matches against Bryan and Show, but he did not appear on the tour.

-- Chris Jericho made one appearance in his hometown of Winnipeg Friday night. Jericho did not talk and was confronted by David Otunga. After Otunga complained about Jericho's light-up jacket, Jericho placed him in the Walls of Jericho.

-- Randy Orton returned to the road for the first time in one month Sunday night in Las Cruces. Orton, who was introduced by Ted DiBiase, charged his TV nemesis, Wade Barrett, in the ring. After Orton chased Barrett out of the ring and into the crowd, Orton delivered RKOs to face and heels who tried to calm him down.

-- John Cena made one appearance Sunday in Las Cruces. Cena resumed his house show run with Kane, who was DQ'ed to give Cena a victory.

-- WWE teased a U.S. Title change to R-Truth Sunday in Las Cruces. However, David Otunga over-ruled Truth's title victory over new U.S. champion Jack Swagger.

-- Every WWE champion appeared on each night's show - WWE champion C.M. Punk, World Hvt. champion Daniel Bryan, IC champion Cody Rhodes, U.S. champion Jack Swagger, tag champions Epico & Primo, and Divas champion Beth Phoenix.

-- Ted DiBiase suffered a hand/arm injury Friday in Winnipeg. He was scratched from Saturday's show in Fargo, N.D., then appeared at Sunday's show to introduce Orton. DiBiase was scheduled to face Intercontinental champion Cody Rhodes on all three shows.

-- Sheamus won a battle royal Sunday in Las Cruces to face Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title. Sheamus was DQ'ed during the match, allowing Rhodes to retain.

-- Divas champion Beth Phoenix resurfaced in tag matches with Natalya against Eve and Kelly Kelly.

-- Mason Ryan replaced Evan Bourne as Kofi Kingston's tag partner against new WWE tag champions Primo & Epico. Bourne is serving a 60-day suspension for a Wellness Policy violation.
