More thorough Raw News & Notes and Random Live Thoughts:

-- After The Miz lost to John Cena, there was a segment not taped for television that occurred. Miz got on the mic and said that he is and was WrestleMania and that he will not be forgotten. He said he doesn't care who he has to go through, he wants any authority figure to come down here and grant him his WrestleMania match.

Out came Triple H for his only advertised appearance of the night and it was for the local crowd during the commercial. His music hit and he stormed the ring to immediately, and with force, Pedigree Miz to end the segment.

-- The first indication of how the crowd reaction was going to be for Cena and Rock was in-between Superstars and Raw tapings. There was a WrestleMania 28 promo, in which Cena got many more boos despite the region typically being strong for Cena. Also, Rock got loud cheering.

-- Beth Phoenix did get a lot of heat during the Superstars taping, and I think was strictly because of her heel role. She played it well and dominated her match with Alicia Fox. It was strange seeing her relegated to Superstars this week, though, instead of some of the other Divas.

-- Michael Cole, when announced to the crowd, got awesome heel heat that rivaled some of the biggest heels of the night. If you remember, last year in Portland was the night after Over The Limit for Cole's "Kiss My Feet" match. I don't think the fans have forgotten that. Jerry Lawler, when introduced, also got a wonderful ovation.

-- In the main event tag, it was strange to see Mark Henry booked so weakly and losing quickly again. Sheamus continues to look strong, and it was a vicious kick for the finish in-person.

After Raw

-- The Rock continued his promo, talking about his Northwest roots, living in the Portland area for a time, and his dad being a major promoter in the Northwest area. He said he was proud to come to the Northwest and make several new chants trend on Twitter. This led to the obligatory, "Finally, The Rock has come back to Portland" closing line.

Rock seemed genuinely thrilled by the crowd response in Portland. He then proceeded to pick on an audience member named Ricky wearing a "Rise Above Hate" Cena t-shirt. He asked him how old he was, and he said 21, and Rock said "Well, we have a 21-year old virgin!" This led to a brief poontang/manly discussion ribbing of the audience member that, while funny and hilarious, I am glad this didn't make the TV airing. He then noticed a family in the front row wearing Cena shirts, including a little kid. He told the parents, "Oh, don't listen to some of that stuff I said in there," referencing his non-PG-esque promo. He then shook hands with the kid, and got the audience to chant his name at the count of three. Awesome of the Rock to take a few minutes and be heartfelt with his fans. After the name chant, the music abruptly cut in, ending Rock's promo (probably because they needed to get to the main dark event because Raw had already over-run by 20 minutes).

-- Kane's pyro hit to bring out Kane for the dark main event. Cena came out to...strangely..more cheers than on TV.

Dark Main Event: John Cena beat Kane. Kane dominated early, then Cena did his traditional comeback routine, culminating in the Five Knuckle Shuffle. As Cena was going for the Attitude Adjustment, Kane countered and readied for the chokeslam. But, Cena countered out of that and transitioned to an AA for the pin and the win. It was a 6-7-minute match, I would say.

Of note, there were more cheers for Cena at the end of the dark match than heard all night during the tapings. Cena then went around hand-shaking with the fans (even acknowledging the kid that Rock mentioned on the front row), and celebrated with the fans to send the crowd home happy.

Final Thoughts

-- Very lively crowd in Portland that hopefully added to the atmosphere and translated well on TV. The Rock chants were deafening, and he really had a hard time getting the promo started because of all the chants. The crowd ate up his promo, and, at times, it was hard to hear the promo over the crowd noise. The crowd was hotly invested most of the night, and made for a fun live experience. Great live show!
