WWE champion C.M. Punk was interviewed for ten minutes on DC101 in Washington, D.C. promoting Monday's Raw TV taping. The following are highlights from Punk's interview with radio host Mike Jones.

-- Punk suggested his feud with Chris Jericho could lead to two or three PPV matches, which would seem to include WrestleMania, Extreme Rules, and the Over the Limit PPV in June, where the arena website is currently advertising Punk-Jericho.

Punk said he feels like it's "been a while" since he's matched up with an opponent of Jericho's caliber in the ring. "If I can squeeze two or three PPVs out of it, I'm definitely going to," Punk said.

Prior to facing Jericho at WrestleMania, Punk said the nerves went away once he entered the ring. He said the nerves kicked in earlier in the day when the talent had to wait around at Sun Life Stadium for the show when they were required to arrive very early. "I was ready to wrestle at noon," he quipped.

-- On Brock Lesnar's return, Punk played up the storyline aspect of Brock's intentions and agenda not being clear. Punk said Brock could be going after John Cena only, him as WWE champion, or someone else on the roster.

"I think it's too early to tell either way," Punk said. "Everybody is going to be asking us what's the deal with Brock. But, honestly we don't know yet." Punk said he wouldn't spoil the storyline direction if he knew, but he will be interested to see how it unfolds weekly.

-- Asked about John Laurinaitis potentially hinting at Lord Tensai coming after him, Punk said he's open to facing any kind of opponent, as evidenced by his match against Mark Henry on Raw.

-- Punk said the one opponent he missed during his career is Shawn Michaels. After the host joked that Punk was throwing a challenge for Michaels to come out of retirement, Punk said he would really like to challenge "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. The host jokingly suggested a three-way match, but Punk shot it down, saying, "No, triple threat matches are garbage. Keep it singles."

-- Asked about WWE Legends such as Bret Hart, Roddy Piper, and Iron Sheik endorsing him as possibly the next guy to take the torch and run with it for WWE, Punk said, "I can't get behind that 100 percent because I feel almost egotistical in a way." He said he is humbled, though.

Punk then shared a WrestleMania story from Colt Cabana, who told him that Sheik was wheeled out just to watch his match with Jericho, then he was wheeled back out. Punk also noted he talked to Piper for 45 minutes after Mania.

"I definitely think there's a link between myself and the old-school. And, I think it has to do with my work ethic and respect for the wrestling business," Punk said.

Punk noted he's enjoyed the two-out-of-three falls matches with Dolph Ziggler on recent house shows because it had an old-school feel.

-- Asked about Billy Corgan's new RPW promotion running in his hometown of Chicago, Punk said it's a shame he hasn't been able to attend one of the shows yet because he's constantly on the road wrestling for WWE. He said he's glad the promotion gives his friends on the independents a place to work.
