-- January 29: Former WWE star Alberto Del Rio echoed C.M. Punk's post-WWE comments about feeling short-changed by WWE's talent department on what he felt he was worth in a new interview.

"Maybe they weren’t happy because I was always complaining about the money. And they would always fix it. I’ll give them credit for that. But, it was my eternal battle. Every single week going to that office and complaining about the money and fighting for what was mine - my money for my hard work that I always did in the ring," Del Rio noted to Al Castle of Pro Wrestling Illustrated in an interview that will run in June.

Del Rio also commented on whether he and Punk started a trend of standing up to WWE management: "I don’t think that’s going to happen, because nobody wants to lose his job. We all have families or a goal in life. We want to save money. It’s a difficult situation. I did it, because I was thinking of not staying with them, and I knew I was going to be fine outside of WWE. That’s the reason I didn’t think twice about fighting for my rights and fighting for my beliefs. But maybe six years ago when I started, if an incident like that would have happened, I don’t know if I would have done the same thing.” [ LINK: Audio Interview HERE at PWI-Online.com ]

-- January 24: Del Rio's first ROH match against Christopher Daniels aired this weekend on ROH's syndicated TV series.

-- January 17: Former WWE star Alberto Del Rio (Alberto El Patron) has signed with Lucha Underground for the U.S. TV show on El Rey Network, the promotion announced.

Alberto, who is also competing for Ring of Honor, debuted at Saturday's Lucha Underground TV taping in Los Angeles, competing in his first match. No word yet on when his first match will air.

“We are thrilled to have Alberto El Patrón join 'Lucha Underground.' He is a bold and exciting luchador who delivers attitude and skill. He is a very welcome addition to our roster," said showrunner Eric Van Wagenen in a press release.

-- January 17: Del Rio's first ROH appearance aired this weekend on ROH's syndicated TV series. This set up Del Rio vs. Christopher Daniels on the weekend of January 24.

-- January 6: Alberto captured the WWL World Title at Tuesday's "Guerra de Reyes" show and Internet PPV in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The match also featured WWL champion Shane Sewell and "El Mesias" Ricky Banderas. Photos of Alberto's title win on his Twitter HERE. [ WWL Show Info HERE ]

-- January 3: Alberto offered strong praise for Ring of Honor and his first ROH opponent, Christopher Daniels, following his debut with the promotion at Saturday's ROH TV taping in Nashville, Tenn.

"Nothing but respect,soooo much #respect for all this guys working their ass off. Sold out building/ nothing but FUN and #ThisIsWrestling #ROHNashville/ casa llena y un público espectacular," Alberto tweeted after his match. Alberto added: "Special mention to @facdaniels U R awesome amigo thanks for the fun and for that amazing match."
