C2E2 Report
Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo
April 24, 2015
Report by PWTorch reader Jim Leszczynski

I went to C2E2 in Chicago on Friday, when the crowds are nowhere near as large as they will be on Saturday. There were sparse lines for Kevin Nash, Al Snow, Tommy Dreamer, Booker T, Rikishi, Jerry Lawler, and Road Warrior Animal. Road Warrior Animal was letting fans wear his trademark spiked shoulder pads for photo-ops, which was really cool.

X-Pac and Scott Hall were signing at the same table and had the longest lines, as well as the slowest moving lines because these two are so personable. These guys carried on conversations with every fan. My wife took my picture with the two, but Hall insisted she get in the picture too. In his words, it was for "putting up with this knucklehead (me) for all these years." It was the best autograph session I have ever been to. It is very understandable why these guys provide such good Torch Talks.

On a final note, I was shocked to see that C.M. Punk had literally no one in his line when I walked past. I wanted to find out for sure if there was something more to this. Maybe it was the $50 autograph price, maybe it was his signing location in the far corner of the building, but it was weird, especially considering he had an insane line just three years ago at Chicago's Wizard World.

I went back later in the show and his line had grown a bit, but nowhere near that of his signing neighbor, comic book legend, Stan Lee. Punk even joked about this on Twitter, tweeting: "Stan Lee stole my heat." Punk also acknowledged having his "Virgil moment" by re-tweeting a photo of an empty autograph line.

I'm sure every one will have a better day on Saturday.
