By Shane McKinley, PWTorch Absurdity specialist

TNA should hire actors for their PPV crowd. That problem has grown too big to ignore. It wouldn't be financially sound, but c'mon, it's TNA we're talking about. It's a world of paradoxes and reversals, where "sending the fans home happy" means "bumming them the eff out."

Sleepy-Crowd__1_.JPG

What is the main thing fans took away from TNA Lockdown? Let's break it down percentage wise:

- Eric Bischoff leaving...10 percent

- Garett Bischoff hopefully following suit...10 percent

- The Motor City Machineguns's return looking pedestrian...1 percent

- Devon...0 percent

- Realizing Hogan and Flair were doing their shtick when the Titantic went down exactly 100 years ago...1 percent

- Realizing that even Flair doesn't acknowledge that he works for TNA...3 percent

- Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle being one of the few over TNA talent that can still go...20 percent

- Still waiting for the bonafide reason to get exicited about Storm-Roode...5 percent

- And, one of the worst wrestling crowds I've seen...50 percent

At times during Lockdown, it was like TNA was wrestling in front of people that were vehmently opposed to wrestling. The crowd, by their lack of reaction, at times exposed how little fans care about the characters, storylines, and why these guys are a-fightin'. Maybe that is TNA's fault creatively wise. I can't recall lately TNA going out of their way to give the fans what they wanted.

Maybe TNA gave back when Eric Bischoff left, but Garett Bischoff got the big shine over guys like Bully Ray and A.J. Styles? Whoopee. Thanks soooooo much.

The crowd wasn't mic'ed well? You're telling me TNA can shell out Hogan Money and Flair Money, but they can't afford to mic the crowd properly? Sure.

The "Flair insulting everybody and Hogan playing the big hero" bit was ... kinda random, wasn't it? But, hey, Ric Flair returned from under his hiding spot to heel it up. The crowd wasn't actually popping off. TNA doesn't have Brock Lesnars or the John Cenas to work with. They've got to make the best with what they got.

You'll get "This is Awesome" and "Holy Sh-t" chants during Angle-Hardy, but when you're starving, and somebody throws you a cracker, you'll sing praises of that cracker. It seems fans at TNA PPV events are starving, and TNA continues to serve up cold, month-old leftovers.

Sure, you would watch Bound for Glory knowing that the audience will consist of nothing but plants, but really, would it be so bad? It's either that or I will have to start to pipe-in my own audience chants and reactions. Hell, that's a idea for TNA marketing. Crowds are a problem? Take away the problem. If WWE and TNA do the same tactics for taped shows, why not for live events? Taz and Tenay could record their dialogue weeks in advance. Wrestlers could nail their promos beforehand and just mouth the promos. And, you would leave the Flair stuff in live. Order TNA Lockdown and play the TNA Lockdown "Audio Experience" while you watch the matches! Hells yeah, bros!

So, whose fault was it for the dead crowd at Lockdown? Who would you cast blame on? TNA? Or, the crowd itself? Right now, I have a little hatred of the Nashville fans. C'mon, in all actuality, buying a TNA PPV makes me feel a bit ashamed of myself. When you fellas don't make a peep, you're making me feel worse.

But that's okay if you do, because I already pre-ordered my TNA Sacrifice Audio Experience for the upcoming PPV. Podcast, CD, hell, you can even order the collector's edition vinyl! Visit tnappvfanssuck.com to snatch up your copy.
