MITCHELL'S TAKE
MITCHELL: Shane Douglas is wrong: My response to his online complaint about my column Oct 13, 2007 - 3:27:46 PM
Shane Douglas wrote on his blog the following this week:
Sorry to all of the Shane Douglas fans out there for the 24hr "rib", but I've decided to give a couple of wrestling "jouralists" a taste of their own medicine. I would like to thank Bruce Mitchell of pwtorch.com for proper journalism in reporting that I was released from TNA because of a relapse. I would also like to thank Wade Kellar [sic] for not checking Mitchell's facts as well. Sorry to say but the "sad" and "boring" truth is that I, Troy Martin, have had no relapse or taken any kind of drug or pill since my rehab last year. I have moved back home to New Brighton, PA where I am in the manager training program for Target and am enjoying life with my two sons, Conner and Caden. I do miss performing infront of the fans, but in no way, shape, or form do I miss the wrestling "business".
- Troy Martin
Troy Martin is wrong. Here's what I wrote in this week's "Mitchell's Memo" in the PWTorch Newsletter:
"I mean, didn't they pay to send that nice Shane Douglas with the deep voice to rehab? Isn't that enough? Whatever happened to him, anyway?"
Where does it say he relapsed or took "any kind of drug or pill since his rehab last year?"
It's probably a good idea to actually first read things about you before you complain, instead of having some bobo tell you second hand.
So, Martin was working as an agent in TNA after he came out of rehab and publicly thanked them. Then, suddenly, he wasn't.
Since Martin is now speaking publicly about leaving TNA, as a wrestling "journalist," I'll ask Martin directly. After TNA paid for your rehab from a Oxycontin addiction, why did you suddenly leave the company that was so generous to you?
