MITCHELL'S TAKE
A MITCHELL SHORT: More Important Info Regarding The WWE McMahon Million Dollar Giveaway Jun 18, 2008 - 3:52:29 PM
Recently, a loyal PWTorch.com reader wrote in with an astute observation about a recent Mitchell's Short:
Well, I did hear it first regarding the "password" for the million dollar giveaway on Raw, right here on this website. How inaccurate could you have been? I really hope no one actually takes anything you say seriously. Your credulity...wait...your lack of credibility shows yet again.
Okay, okay, you're right. I somehow led you astray a couple of weeks ago when I said the first password for Mr. McMahon's Million Dollar Mania would BR549. It turns out that BR549 is not, in fact, the password to hundreds of thousands of dollars for Raw viewers and pwtorch.com readers but the phone number to Junior Samples' Used Car dealership, as featured on that famed CBS-TV variety show of the seventies, Hee Haw.
Pro Wrestling Torch regrets the error.
Unfortunately, it also turns out PWTorch.com readers don't even need an early release of the Million Dollar Mania password (not to mention it was the wrong one), since Mr. McMahon graciously gives Raw viewers the winning password at the beginning of the show anyway.
So it's understandable if some of you are skeptical when I pass along important information about Mr. McMahon's Million Dollar Mania Giveaway (and boy, wasn't it a relief to see the Raw ratings rise this week so we can have even more of Mr. McMahon's entertaining segments to watch in the foreseeable future) but this time, what I have to pass along to you is on the level:
Monday night, when you answer the phone, Mr. McMahon asks you the password, and you give him the correct one – that's it, the money is yours.
McMahon can ask you to bark like a dog, sing the National Anthem, call him handsome, whatever – you don't have to do a damn thing once you say the password to get your money. He can't change the amount, either. The rules of contests, lotteries actually, are backed up by the force of law – McMahon can't require you to do anything beyond what the rules say to get paid or he's committing a felony.
Now, I'm not suggesting once you say the password you should coldly refuse to do or say whatever cockamamie thing McMahon wants, or you should ask to speak to "Dana," or make history by becoming the first person to say the words "Chris Benoit" on WWE programming, or do your best Macho Man Randy Savage imitation or anything like that on live television.
That would be rude.
I'm just saying you could, and Mr. McMahon would still have to give you the money.
