All-New VIP Torch Talk - The Definitive Lanny Poffo Interview (3+ Hours) Aug 25, 2008 - 10:35:59 AM
Starting with this week's edition of the PWTorch Newsletter (#1041), we will begin running weekly installments of the Lanny Poffo "Torch Talk." Conducted Sunday, Aug. 24 and lasting more than three hours, it is the definitive career interview with Poffo, the younger brother of "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
The topics covered span his entire career, straying into many intriguing topics including considerable time regarding his brother Randy Savage not being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, his not being invited to be at Curt Hennig's WWE Hall of Fame induction despite his inquiries to Vince McMahon personally to be there, the death of Miss Elizabeth and her relationship with Randy and the family, whether he was jealous of Savage's success, how his confrontations with Rick Rude, Bam Bam Bigelow, and the Andersons went, surprisingly blunt comments about some big name wrestlers he known over the years, and much more.
He's an engaging, entertaining storyteller, providing anecdotes about Ric Flair, Terry Funk, Vince McMahon, Harley Race, Ole Anderson, and more. He explains why he was paid six figures a year for years by Eric Bischoff, but never used on TV. He talks about what it was like growing up with Randy Savage as a brother and a father (Angelo) who wrestled.
It's a revealing, compelling, funny, and even jaw-dropping interview at times. It will be available to PWTorch VIP members in progressive installments most weeks going forward including text transcripts and audio files.
VIP members will have exclusive access to the interview (joining the hundreds of other Torch Talks from our 20 year library) beginning this week: VIP SIGN UP INFO
