Reporting live from Raw...
The building is sold out. Only a few standard empty rows on the hard camera side. Return date is October 28 for Smackdown TV.
Raw opened with WWE World Hvt. champion John Cena in the ring giving the vocal males what they wanted to hear by predicting he will take a beating Brock Lesnar at Summerslam and giving his fans what they want to hear by predicting victory, just like two years ago.
Paul Heyman interrupted for his rebuttal from the stage. Long, drawn-out promo. Heyman said Cena will be victimized, beaten, and conquered. Cena replied with an every-three months passion promo about working hard and having a passion for wrestling, like Heyman had for ECW. But Lesnar has no passion for this business. Cena screamed that he will retain this s.o.b. at Summerslam.
Cesaro interrupted by running down Cena's wrestling ability and competing in Kmart shoes. Nice sponsor plug. Cena told Cesaro it will be his honor to wrestle circles around him.

(1) John Cena beat Cesaro at 13:58 in a non-title match. PPV quality match to start Raw. A little sloppy early, but very strong late with Cena winning via Super AA from the top rope. Cesaro's Big Swing tease actually worked for the match context giving anti-Cena fans their big moment, but setting up Cena for the big comeback for his fans. Well done.
Backstage, Stephanie McMahon can't get the smell of jail out of her hair and Randy Orton has a problem with everyone, including now Triple H, who told him no title shots until he takes out Roman Reigns.

Paige came out to set the record straight about attacking A.J. Lee last week, her best friend in the whole wide world..... who took her title. Lee came out for a rebuttal and things got a little testy. Especially about Lee's mental health. That set off Lee, who tackled Paige. The fight spilled to the outside as a "C-M-Punk" chant broke out. Inescapable. Lee stood tall in the ring to wrap the segment.
Tonight: Reigns vs. Kane.

At the top of the hour, Triple H's music brought out Hunter and "jailbird" Stephanie. As Steph choked back the big years, Hunter noted Brie Bella has refused to drop the assault and battery charge from last week. Steph took the mic to big boos pleading with Brie to come out here. Instead, Chris Jericho interrupted to reenact scenes available on WWE Network and sing the "Cops" theme song. Jericho started to call Steph a trash bag ho, but Hunter cut him off and booked him against Bray Wyatt at Summerslam. Standing by was Seth Rollins, who smashed Jericho from behind on the stage. They're in a match tonight.

(2) Dolph Ziggler & WWE tag champion The Usos beat IC champion The Miz & Ryback &
Curtis Axel at 10:02 in a six-man tag match. Mid-way through the match, Xavier Woods led suited Kofi Kingston and Big E. down to ringside for a look at the action. The heels isolated Uso for a while, then Ziggler got the big hot tag. Chaos, then Ziggler dropped Ryback with Zig-Zag for the win. Nice match, but Usos don't have any title challengers.
(CB. Sting's video game spot got a big reaction and "We Want Sting" chant. Nice market research.)
(3) R-Truth beat Bo Dallas at 0:33. Bo called Truth a jobber before the match, then lost his streak to a quick roll-up. Bo sold shock, then said he can't bo-lieve his first loss was to Truth. Smile, then mic to the head. Bo beat down Truth, then smiled and took a celebratory victory lap. The crowd reception was all over the place to the character. Bo is getting a reaction, but it's not consistent.

Lana and Rusev entered the ring for a promo. Lana was drowned out, then told the crowd to shut up before heeling on apathetic Americans. Vladimir Putin was back on the screen, then Lana heeled on President Obama to some cheers. President Bush was then shown on the screen to some cheers. It's a red state. Jack Swagger's music interrupted for Zeb Colter to paint pictures of Americana to cheers and applause. How did WWE set up the promo beforehand? Ran a Tribute to the Troops video package during the break to warm up national pride. Swagger and Rusev fought, which Swagger got the best of before standing tall in the ring holding up his American flag.

(4) Adam Rose beat Damien Sandow, representing NASA as a spaceman, at 0:10. Gravity won out, setting off Rose dancing with the Rosebuds before the top of the hour.
Up Next: Reigns vs. Kane.
(CB)
Randy Orton jumped Roman Reigns in the crowd during his ring entrance, then the right moved into the ring. Reigns bested Orton, but Kane chokeslammed Reigns and left. Orton and Reigns then battled in the ring. Orton won the exchange, then dropped Reigns with an RKO onto the announce table. Orton flipped when it didn't break, so he delivered a second RKO. This one went through the table to KO Reigns for the night. Big heat on Orton on the way out as the medic checked on Reigns.
(CB)
(5) Diego (w/Summer Rae, Layla, and El Torito in Halloween costumes) beat Fandango at 1:20. Torito provided a distraction for Diego to roll up Dango for the win. Torito speared the loser off the ring apron for the final insult.
Divas Locker Room: Stephanie tried to talk to Nikki Bella, but she told her to eat a plate of crap.
(CB)
Backstage: Cody Rhodes tried to solve a cosmic mystery when Goldust interrupted. More build to whatever they're discovering.
(6) Naomi & Natalya beat Cameron & Alicia Fox at 2:41. Natalya had to hold back Naomi before the start of the match. Naomi scored a submission win, getting a measure of revenge on Cameron.
(CB)
(7) Chris Jericho vs. Seth Rollins went to a No Decision in 13:00. You could see a no contest coming with neither man positioned to lose. The Wyatts interrupted when Jericho hit a codebreaker on Rollins. Bray dropped Jericho with Sister A. to stand tall over him. Nice match before the finish. They need
20 minutes and a bigger stage.

Stephanie McMahon was introduced to the ring for the main event segment. She sold being humbled by what happened last week. Brie Bella walked through the crowd and entered the ring to call her names and make threats. Then she listed her demands: job back ... and a match at Summerslam. ... against you. Stephanie said no; she hasn't competed in 10 years. After a long discussion, Steph agreed - through tears - to the match in exchange for all charges dropped. Tears turned into a slap, knocking Brie off the ring apron. Steph vowed to make Steph her b---- at Summerslam. Brie then ran into the ring and tackled Steph. The fight was on as Triple H showed up ringside to try to restore order. Agent Jamie Noble was left alone in the ring with Brie, drawing a Jamie Noble chant. He got the heck out of the ring and Brie stood tall to close Raw.
Curiously, no Ambrose and Rollins spotlight on Raw, which was saved for the bonus main event...
Big Show and Dean Ambrose represented the faces against Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins. How does WWE get the arena to hold up their phones like lights for the Wyatts's entrance? By displaying hundreds of light images on the Titantron, with the audience mimicking what they see.
Bonus Match: Big Show & Dean Ambrose beat Seth Rollins & Bray Wyatt at 5:30. Basic house show match with some light fare and signature offense leading to Ambrose taking out Rollins and the Wyatts on the outside before Show chokeslammed Bray for the win.
Show and Ambrose took a victory lap around ringside to close the show.
