WWE Main Event Results
September 30, 2014
Milwaukee, Wis.
Aired on WWE Network
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

Main Event started off with Jack Swagger, who was flanked by Zeb Colter. Michael Cole and Byron Saxton introduced the show, then introduced a pre-taped inset promo from Zeb and Swagger. Zeb said Cesaro would make for a great candidate for deportation. Out came Swagger's former Real American partner Cesaro for singles action. Cesaro offered a joke about Swagger in an inset promo before the match started.

1 -- JACK SWAGGER (w/Zeb Colter) vs. CESARO

Cesaro completely dominated the first-half of the match as Cole hyped Cesaro's inclusion in the IC Title picture. Cesaro then smashed Swagger on the outside as Zeb sold concern heading to break.

[Break]

Back from break, Cesaro was still working on Swagger. Cesaro followed up with more top-rope sledgehammers to Swagger. He tried a third, but Swagger got to his feet and cut off Cesaro. Swagger followed with a huge hip toss sending Cesaro clear across the ring from the top rope. Swagger Bomb for a two count, then a powerslam for another nearfall.

Swagger wanted the Patriot Lock, Cesaro teased tapping, but he finally got the bottom rope for a break. Cesaro grabbed the ring skirt in the process, momentarily distracting the ref, which allowed Cesaro to thumb Swagger in the eye and hit an Uppercut for the pin and the win.

WINNER: Cesaro at 10:10. Decent piece of business reinforcing Cesaro as a heel, but Swagger is still miscast as a babyface.

Authority Office: Kane was on the phone, then Natalya walked in. Natalya tried to pitch Tyson Kidd getting a match tonight on Main Event, but Kidd walked in and argued with Natalya about her trying to handle his business. Over-acting, forced dialogue, cross-talk, and Kane had enough. Kane yelled at Kidd that he has a match next. Now leave.

[Break]

Video Clip: Hulk Hogan's breast cancer awareness speech on Raw.

In-ring: Tyson Kidd was introduced for the next match. Kidd was flanked by his wife, Natalya, but Kidd didn't seem to appreciate her presence. And the opponent that Kane found for Kidd was Kofi Kingston. Before the match started, Cole plugged an interview with John Cena Wednesday on WWE's website.

2 -- TYSON KIDD (w/Natalya) vs. KOFI KINGSTON

Cole and Saxton recapped recent issues between Kidd and Natalya down on NXT. Early on, Kofi knocked Kidd to the outside, then Kidd hid behind Natalya when Kofi teased a flying move. Kidd gained control back in the ring as Natalya sold concern over Kidd's heelish tactics. Kidd then set up Natalya to cheat, but Natalya remained impartial ringside. Kidd yelled at Natalya for not cheating to help him, then Kofi took advantage of Kidd distracting himself.

Kofi wanted an SOS, but Kidd kind of held onto the ropes on the way down to partially block. Natalya tried to start a "Let's Go Tyson" chant, but no one followed her lead. Kidd then caught Kofi in the corner, stomped away at his chest, and tried the Sharpshooter, but Kofi fought. Kidd finally applied the hold and Kofi was forced to tap out.

Post-match: Natalya smiled and entered the ring to celebrate with Kidd, who no-sold a celebratory kiss from Natalya. Kidd then posed alone in the corner and Natalya left the ring as Kidd continued celebrating as if he won the Super Bowl.

WINNER: Kidd via submission at 5:31. Silly. The "Total Divas" stuff is like a bad cold that keeps spreading onto main television.

[Break]

Raw Rebound: Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins feud.

Wyatts Video: Luke Harper has been sent out on his own.

Backstage: Renee Young brought in Mark Henry. After a review of Bo Dallas beating Henry last night on Raw and then Henry destroying Bo backstage, Henry talked about his recent losing streak. Henry said he had an emotional break down last night, but it's a new day. He vowed to throw Bo like a lawn-dart tonight. "Because that's what I do," he closed. Renee sold concern.

[Break]

In-ring: Summer Rae and Layla were introduced to the ring for a handicap match. That could only mean one thing - Brie Bella on the disadvantage.

3 -- SUMMER RAE & LAYLA vs. BRIE BELLA -- handicap match

Summer and Layla used the numbers advantage to their benefit early on. Brie fought back, ran underneath Summer, caused the heels to cancel themselves out, and Brie finished off Layla with an X Factor for the pin and the win. Post-match: Brie led the crowd in "Yes!" chants as WWE cut to a shot of Nikki angrily watching the result on a backstage monitor.

WINNER: Brie at 3:20. Brie is finally starting to get some wins after being beaten down without any sign of a comeback earlier this month.

[Break]

Announcers: Cole read an apology from "WWE offices" in response to Big Show pulling down the Russian flag Monday night on Raw. Cole used the "apology" to hype Big Show vs. Rusev next Monday on Raw. Also promoted for Raw is an interview with Roman Reigns.

In-ring: Bo Dallas was introduced for the main event. Is he a heel or a face? Hard to tell when he's sporting a breast cancer awareness t-shirt. But, WWE spotlighted fans in the crowd booing him. Bo, who Henry tried to permanently injure last night on Raw, noted he is sore today, but he wants to inspire Henry to find a hobby or another outlet to release his anger. Maybe cooking since he likes to eat. Henry's music played in response.

4 -- BO DALLAS vs. MARK HENRY

Henry quickly took it to Dallas, beating him up and pounding him into the mat. The crowd wasn't sure how to respond to this. Cole played it up as Henry in the babyface role as Henry continued to punish Bo until he was inspired. Henry was not inspired, though, as he continued to smash Bo to pieces to the point where the ref called for the bell, DQ'ing Henry.

Post-match: Saxton noted Henry has lost control two nights in a row and cost himself two matches. Henry paused to reflect on losing again, then he snapped on Bo with a World's Strongest Slam. The crowd cheered, then he smashed Bo with another World's Strongest. Cole continued to defend Henry's actions as the crowd cheered on Henry. "That's what I do!" Henry shouted down at Bo, who sold the effects before Henry left the ring. Bo remained lifeless with his eyes closed lying down in the ring as Main Event signed off.

WINNER: Dallas via DQ at 2:05. The puzzle pieces of this program are scattered all over the floor; now WWE needs to put it all together to define some roles here.
