Kurt Angle – pursuing new career?

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Former TNA Hvt. champion Kurt Angle said earlier this year that he does not believe he will re-sign with TNA after his current deal expires. But, that does not mean he will be returning to WWE.

Perhaps he will not be moving on to any wrestling promotion on a regular basis. Instead, Angle said in a new blog post on his website that he would like to enter the education field.

Angle, 46, has seemingly tried for years to find purpose after winning an Olympic Gold Medal in 1996. He entered pro wrestling, competed in WWE for nearly a decade, thought about switching to MMA, shifted to TNA, tried the Olympics again his 40s, entered the food industry, talked about becoming an amateur wrestling coach.

Now, Angle says:

My ‘long shot’ dream was to be an Olympic Champion. Winning gold was my lifelong dream. I also had another passion, to be a teacher…to teach our youth. I have a college degree in education. I accomplished my ultimate dream, winning gold in the 1996 Olympics, but now that I’ve accomplished it, I want to use my college education to help others and to teach others.

Angle says he wants to “slow down and reflect on all that I have personally achieved.” Angle said part of that is helping others accomplish their goals.

It remains to be seen if Angle does pursue this new avenue in his personal and professional life. Or, if this was simply a thought that he wanted to make public.

Overall, it does point to his future being more outside of the limelight/outside of pro wrestling once his TNA deal expires.
