Smackdown 10/22 SPOILERS

– Smackdown opened with a confrontation between WWE World Hvt. champion Seth Rollins and Kane. Kane ran into New Day backstage and booked them against Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns in the main event.

(1) WWE World Hvt. champion Seth Rollins beat Cesaro in a non-title match. Cesaro was thrown hard into the steel steps, then Rollins won with the Pedigree. Very competitive match.

– The Miz was interviewed backstage by Renee Young.

– Paige was in the ring by herself. She called Divas champion Charlotte and Becky Lynch to the ring to explain herself. Charlotte ended up confronting Paige. Team Bella crashed and Nikki confronted Charlotte from outside the ring. Charlotte wanted a match now, but Paige said that Nikki must go through her to get to charlotte.

(2) Nikki Bella beat Paige with the Rack Attack. Typical Divas match.

– MizTV segment with Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae. Summer explained her side of the relationship and said she has moved on to her new man, Tyler Breeze of NXT! Tyler claimed Ziggler is stuck in 1985. Big “NXT” chants. Breeze said he wants to give WWE a much-needed facelift. They had a confrontation, then a fight. Ziggler was taken out with the Beauty Shot kick. End of segment.

(3) Sheamus & King Barrett beat Lucha Dragons (Kalisto y Sin Cara). Rusev stood in the heels’s corner and took a plancha from Kalisto for his trouble. Once back in the ring, Sheamus pinned Kalisto after a vicious-looking Brogue Kick.

– Bo Dallas accepted John Cena’s Hell in a Cell U.S. Title Open Challenge in a solo interview spot. We’ll see about that.

(4) Ryback squashed Bo Dallas with Shell-shock.

– Backstage, Kevin Owens talked to Renee Young about his HIAC match against Ryback.

(5) Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose beat WWE tag champions New Day (Big E. & Kofi Kingston) in a non-title match. New Day tried escape to the backstage area, but the Dudleys chased them back out. Kofi took the LOD doomsday device and then Roman speared him for the pin.

The post-match celebration was interrupted by a Bray Wyatt video. Bray and Erick Rowan then headed to ring to beat down the Shield members. Shield countered after a few minutes, then Bray took a Superman Punch to send the crowd home happy and end the show.

The show ended at 10:00 p.m. sharp. No return date to was announced. It was a typical stale show in modern-era WWE. I’m unsure if I’ll buy a ticket the next time WWE is in Austin. Taking notes for PWTorch was more entertaining than watching the live event!
